Chaosium vice president Michael O'Brien and Call of Cthulhu creator Royce Wilson (co-author of the coming Call of Cthulhu release Tools of the Trade) are special guests at KaijuCon 2, taking place in Nagoya on October 24th.
After experiencing a debilitating back injury and gradually falling into depression, I eventually discovered a show called Critical Role on YouTube. I binge watched the first season while lying on the floor which was about the only thing I could do without excruciating pain. When I was finally able to walk somewhat normally again, I desperately needed to get out of the house. I had learned something about the 5th edition of D&D through watching CR, so I searched for a game in my area and found one that regularly met at a local bar. In that very first game, I met a group of people who would become some of the best friends of my life. People who still today, 7 years later, come to my house every week to roll dice and make memories. I've spent every month since that day trying to connect people together through the hobby, so they can experience a little of what I did, or maybe something even better.
If you live near Nagoya and have ever been interested in TRPGs, or perhaps have friends or family you'd like to introduce to the hobby, we're offering a free introduction to Tabletop Roleplaying at Second Home (Ark Shirakawa Park Building B1F, 2-2-23 Sakae, Naka-ku, Nagoya) on Sunday, September 13th from 13:00 - 17:30. Like I mentioned, it's free--all you have to do is buy a drink or something from the cafe. We'll have 2 sessions of games with up to 4 games per session and running things like D&D, Call of Cthulhu and more.

This year we'll have over 25 game tables in 3 sessions (both in English and Japanese). The VP of Chaosium, Michael O'Brien, will be joining us again (and GMing!) along with various authors and artists of CoC and other Chaosium products. There will be signings, merch, and games run by authors, artists, designers and a multitude of GMs from tabletop communities across Japan and beyond. Please come and roll some dice with us at KaijuCon 2!
