Looking for people interested in airsoft

I want to go play airsoft with fellow Nagoyans

But I do not know if such populations exist on this platform.

I go to CRA in Seto.

Please let me know if people are interested.

The field also allows foreigners as long as they follow rules!

Looking for ESim

Hi everyone!

I'll be moving to Nagoya soon for a one-year study abroad program, and I'm currently looking for an affordable long-term eSIM option.

My school has a partnership with Mobal, so that was my first choice. However, the problem is that I won't arrive at Chubu Centrair Airport in time to pick up the SIM card, so I'm looking for other alternatives.

I'm also not sure whether I should get a Japanese phone number or if a data-only eSIM would be enough for daily life in Japan.

Does anyone have recommendations for affordable eSIM providers that work well for a one-year stay? If you've had experience with Mobal or other companies I'd really appreciate your advice.

Thanks in advance!

Moving to Nagoya in 2 months! Tips?

At the end of this August, I'll be starting a study abroad in Nagoya. I've never made such a big move before, so I'm at a loss of what I'll need to buy once I'm there.

As far as I know, my apartment will have a desk, closet, bathroom, and even a small kitchenette with a hot plate and sink. I know I'll need to buy a rice cooker, but does anyone know of any used items shops? I don't plan on packing any pots, pans, knives, or silverware. I might need some small pieces of furniture as well. A bookshelf, perhaps a lamp, maybe some old posters/paintings just to make the place feel lived in.

My second biggest worry has been cooking for myself. I doubt I'll be able to afford to eat out all that much, so I've been on the lookout for any simple recipe books as well.

Some fun, cheap things to do would be appreciated as well! Thank you

Good Gelato?

Hi,

Since it's getting hot these days I've been craving some good gelato (not ice cream, specifically gelato). Do you have any recommendations? Until now I've only tried the Venchi one.

Thank you!

Nagoya nearby cities: Where to stay?

I am traveling to Nagoya later this year and am planning to visit nearby cities like Gifu, Shirakawa-go, Kamikochi. I will be staying for 2 weeks and I don’t want to stay in Nagoya the whole trip. Also, prices for hotels are higher in the center.

Where should I stay aside from Nagoya? Is Gifu a good place to stay? Solo-traveler here.

Is this one of the most underrated festivals in Japan?

This is the Inuyama Festival near Nagoya, Japan.

The festival dates back to the 17th century and is part of UNESCO's Intangible Cultural Heritage.

The float in this video is rotated entirely by human power.

I'm curious how people outside Japan see it. Would this make you want to visit?

So is revving your car engine at 4am the norm here?

I’ve recently moved to Nagoya from the UK. I was looking forward to living in a society which everyone kept saying was very reserved, polite and respectful.

So imagine my shock when I’m being woken up most nights at 4am because of some absolute weapon revving the shit out of their car almost every night. Surely this is illegal?

We have guidelines in our apartment not to make noise after 10pm. Kind of a dumb rule given what goes on outside anyway.

I’m writing this cranky from having being woken up too early on a Sunday morning. Is this just part of life in Japan?

Exchange student apartment hunting in Nagoya for 4 months

Hey everyone! I'm a Swedish exchange student heading to Nagoya in September for a semester at NUCB (Sep-Dec, 4 months). I'm trying to sort out housing from abroad and it's been a bit of a hunt.

I'm looking for a furnished apartment somewhere around Motoyama or Ikeshita on the Higashiyama Line, budget around ¥100k/month all-in. I've been searching on Wagaya Japan and found one decent option but wanted to see if anyone here has tips on other platforms or knows of anything in the area.

Any advice from people who've done something similar would be massively appreciated!

Getting concerta (adhd med) in Nagoya

ひだまり(sakae) told me I’d have to wait about six months before they could prescribe Concerta.

I’ve already tried other medications (Atomoxetine) but hadabsolutely no effect on me.

Does anyone know of another clinic in Nagoya where it’s possible to get Concerta sooner? Any recommendations or experiences would be
appreciated. Thanks!
