Experiences going to RWH (or other public hospital) emergency for suspected mastitis?
It’s what the LCs in NICU said to do but scared I’ll be waiting forever / it’s also where people about to have babies go!

Does anyone have the actual tea on what it was like to work in the design team from the glory days (quality fabrics and thoughtful designs) to now-ish (basically fast fashion with a higher price tag?)
Aware it was purchased by Factory X in 2010 and Lisa departed in 2021. I was a huge fan 2014/15/16/17. I loved spending every spare cent in their Fitzroy store.
Were margins prioritised above all else? Did OG staff try to maintain standards and quality?
Hello!
I’ve read through the other fit checks, my main concerns are:
-Baby head is quite high
-Unsure if I have the legs in the right position
I’ve tried to rotate the hips more. Baby is about 9 pounds ☺️
Just hired a Snoo. Snoo Daddy (the company) told me to use the Ergopouch under the snoo but now googling at 5am it says that’s a big no as they can’t be strapped in properly/too many zips.
Melb winter, room temp 17-19 degrees.
Thank-you!
Hi all,
I’ve suffered mild to moderate anxiety the past few years. Managed with psychologist and the occasional Valium as a circuit breaker.
It is flaring up 9 weeks pp, I was sleeping super well. But I’ve noticed my vivid dreams and light sleeping is returning, and one of my dreams has triggered a flair up and I can’t stop worrying about my baby. My baby is great and technically I’m sleeping well. I have lots of support, but I did have a very traumatic pregnancy.
My usual fix is to just get back into the world, going to work usually fixes me, but that’s obviously not an option. Would love to hear what others have done to help ease their anxiety 😥
45 days into our NICU/HDU/SCN stay for baby girl born at 30+3.
Currently alternating suck / tube feeds and I know this is still the best place for her but just want to take her home 💔 I think we have another 2+ weeks left and now she’s big and healthy it is so hard to leave her.
I feel like people are expecting her to be home already (almost 37 weeks corrected), she’s making great improvements but still getting sleepy after a big suck feed.
I would love to hear others experiences so I know it’s all okay ❤️
Send help!
I’ve been a NICU/SCN mum for 6 weeks, baby born at 30w.
Supply was increasing to 500ml (17oz) per day with 7 pumps at 2 weeks.
Since then has decreased and below is my schedule and changes made so far:
- 8 pumps per day (up from 7)
- 1 over night pump (was sometimes doing 2)
- use Medela symphony at hospital
- use Spectra at home
- have reduced flange size from 24mm to 21/20mm
- left breast does between 10ml-30ml, down from 40-50ml, right 20ml - 50ml
Baby taking 60ml every 3 hours (through bottle or tube) so I’m falling behind 😬
I know doing the right thing but feel awful 😢. Baby born at 30+3, now 33+4. I’ve been in every day (5 nights as inpatient at the hospital) but today my throat is a tiny bit sore (or dry?) and I’m exhausted so going to stay home. Extra sad as we just started breast contact yesterday which was soooo lovely and worried if I am sick I’ll be taken out for even more time 😭
Hi NICU mums,
Just after some reassurance/reminder the guilt is normal and I can’t live at the hospital.
My baby was born 30+3, now 32+3 and graduated to high dependency late last week, hoping to graduate to special care in the next few weeks 💛
Hello! Would love for people to share their comprehensive what to buy for newborn lists 🩷🩵💛
I’m sure there are plenty of previous posts but can’t seem to find the full lists!
Hi all ☺️ Happy Mother’s Day!
I had a change in movement yesterday (decreased to nothing) and went in for monitoring (thanks so everyone who has replied to a previous post. I listened to your advice!) which was 1000000% the right thing to do.
When I went in she was fine, extremely active according to her heart rate, but I could still barely feel a thing? I have an “extensive” anterior placenta, so things are usually muted and she needs to kick me in particular way. But I’ve woken up this morning and still nothing.
I do feel reassured she’s okay but disoriented by the situation. I’ve had a pretty hectic pregnancy would just like to feel her kick so I can tell she’s okay at regular intervals 🥺
Would love to hear other similar stories?
