B.ed Tech and AQs

Hello all. I'm starting to learn the lingo and have some questions. I am interested in applying to tech Ed for tech design. I have an undergraduate degree and my understanding is, that once I am certified by OCT, I would then be able to take additional ABQs/AQs to become qualified to teach history (my only teachable) and possibly primary?

If this is the case, will I be less likely to work in say, k-8 because I have tech Ed versus a traditional B.ed? I am just looking at how best to diversify myself!

Tech Design Teachers- Question for you!

For those of you who are tech teachers, specifically tech design as their teachable, what was your background prior to getting into Tech Ed?

AppleCare+ inquiry

Has anyone bothered putting AppleCare+ on their A16. It seems steep. I have it on my MacBook Air because to replace or repair that would be much higher but debating if it's worth it for the iPad A16.

Tech Ed question

Hello All, I am looking at making a career change and becoming a teacher. After some research I have learned of tech Ed. I love the idea of using my 10+ years in the fine art/museum world in teaching but unsure if that would qualify for any of the streams. Any insights or similar experiences?

I see tourism and hospitality as an option but the more I look at that, it seems to be more cooking/baking oriented. Maybe there's something I am missing?

Seeking advice on 2 online options

I am looking at becoming a teacher as a second career but unfortunately that means for my B.ed I need an online option because moving is not an option. I have come to the conclusion that these 2 following programs may be best and looking for advice, experiences, and opinions:

  1. University of Potsdam NY

Pros:

-Masters degree (maybe more future earnings if I understand correctly?)

-would qualify now

-seems to be the most established online route

Cons:

-super expensive

-might be more tricky to go from NY to ON Oct

-need to take qualifying exams

-longer

  1. University of Cape Breton

Pros:

-Only 1 year

-Canadian

-Cheaper option

-Could start earlier

Cons:

-would need to take an additional 12 credit hrs (6 in English + 6 in Math) bringing up cost and delaying start

Both would let me do my practicums near my home so that's neutral. Anything else I am missing? Is the international option typically looked down more in hiring for future jobs? Any experiences with either option?

What's the best buy

I am deciding to take the plunge and buy an airwrap. I LOVE my airstrait and not a huge fan of my shark flex style. I find the airstrait helps with frizz and doesn't get as hot so I am hoping the airstrait gives me the same outcome.

That said, I am debating if buying the airwrap ID is worth the money over a complete long. I don't care about using the Bluetooth so are there any other considerations I am missing? Also, has anyone bought refurbished directly from Dyson over new? Thoughts, opinions and experiences would be helpful!
