Why does the Hero’s party kick out their buffer/debuffer?

I recently watched a few anime and manga and some of them had this premise of the Hero’s party not recognizing the worth of their buffer or debuffer and kicking him out only to realize that they’re useless without him, he joins a different party and causes that party to overtake the hero’s party because he’s secretly really OP.

Support characters aren’t useless in rpg’s and are typically some of the most important role so why are there so many anime’s with this story?

We’re not getting OC’s even for story patches anymore what are we supposed to count on?

Sorry to vent but I genuinely feel immense frustration that they’re planning to release crossover characters for five patches in a row.

Getting a crossover during a story patch is unprecedented aside from 1.0 which should’ve been the only exception.

It genuinely feels like the devs are out of touch for pushing an event that’s universally hated to this extent.

I think the conclusion of the Johto arc was ruined by Harrison coming out of nowhere just to shill Hoenn

Absurd that they chose to glaze hoenn despite Johto having been the focus up to this point
