I would like to learn Wooden Indian by John Denver, but I cannot pay by ear, and I can't find any instruction anywhere. Can anybody help?

I first heard this song from the Smothers Brothers. I'm not sure if it's a traditional spiritual, but it does predate the Smothers Brothers. I cannot find any sheet music whatsoever for the song (or much information at all), so anything would be appreciated.

On most of my 78s, my turntable stops just shy of getting to the end of the song. Is there some way I can adjust where it stops so that it doesn't end abruptly?
