Family member in rehab

Hello, I have a young, just turned 24yrs old, family member in an inpatient rehab right now. We are extremely proud of him for going and for recognizing and wanting help with alcohol mainly. We hope that this will stop the smoking (pot, cigarettes, vaping) as well. When he drinks he is verbally abusive, and physically destructive. He‘s been in rehab for 2 weeks. the first week was detox then a week with the daily activities they have. This is extremely expensive since insurance doesn’t cover it. We are terrified that he will leave and go back to drinking and that he won’t survive it. He is saying that it’s a bit weird there but hasn’t said what yet. Everything I read about rehabs makes them sound like they are not the best, he only gets one chance at this. What is the best way to make sure he gets the skills or knowledge he needs there to ensure he can lead a long, healthy and happy life? What if there is something off about the place? The idea of him leaving so soon seems like he hasn’t had time to really get help. I hope this is okay to ask here. Thank you.

Practicing different techniques

I’ve been practicing more sgraffito after taking a great class with Sarah Anderson. if she’s coming to a studio near you check it out. I made the blue one in class and the other two at home. I’m just waiting for glaze for the inside so I can fire them. They might look silly but I do hope they survive firing.

Sculpture coil class

I‘m taking a coil building class and I’m enjoying it. Used open studio to work on my sculptire. I’m looking forward to glazing it with vibrant colors. This is the first non-monster thing I’ve made, but there is a monster inside.

Frustration

Today at the wheel class I take it was so frustrating. I couldn’t seem to get anything right. The instructor kept saying no, not like that, no that’s wrong. I ended up leaving 40 mins early. I just cleaned up and left. part of me doesn’t want to go back but I’ve paid for this class and another and it’s the same instructor since its small and they own it. :(

I’m super excited my little plug and fire kiln has arrived. I opened the boxes but didn’t unpack yet. next Tuesday I’m done with school and can clear my space and get it set up. so excited. I need a little table to replace mine since it’s glass then I can at least hand build.

Hi, I’d really love to try the Glost Seafoam and moss lava glazes but the shipping to the US is rwice as much as the glaze. I’m wondering if anyone has these that is in the US already and could sell me a sample size. Thank you.

I had some extra money and felt impatient so I bought a tiny baby kiln. The L&L plug and fire. it says it’s in stock so hopefully it will be here by the time I finish the semester before I start my summer work. I figured I could play around with all the clay I got. Does anyone have this one?
