What are clear flaws that you see in Bollywood movies which are considered classics?

I am not asking about acclaimed films that you think are overrated. In fact, the movies you list might be your favorite movies of all time or movies you objectively consider as masterpieces.

I am just curious about flaws or problems that you have with Bollywood movies that are considered classics that nobody else seems to bring up.

What are the common writing pitfalls and mistakes that you see most shows fall into but The Sopranos cleverly avoided?

The Sopranos is known to be subversive and constantly swings big with it's risks so I gotta ask, after watching the show and then watching other shows, what are the most common writing mistakes and pitfalls that most shows make that The Sopranos always cleverly avoided?

Anyone else wish that Lara wore feminine dresses again?

I feel like seeing Lara's femininity would be very refreshing. A lot like the Tokyo level in Legend.

What do you all think?

In Season 3, Buffy and Faith are handcuffed together two times. Do you all think there is some symbolism in that?

I think personally the handcuffs represent them being chained together as the slayers and then both times being broken apart symbolises how they both take different paths at being a slayer.

Do you all have any other interpretation of the handcuffs? Please share your thoughts and opinions.

Hypothetical scenario:- In "Terma", if Mulder never returned from the Russian Gulaag, would Scully would just voluntarily get jailed indefinitely?

Just sort of a thought I had. Would Scully just accept arrest and Jail for an indefinite period of time?

What do you all think?

Between Elaine Benes and Dee Reynolds, who would you say is better written and funnier and more iconic?

Seinfeld and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia are often compared as they both are shows with main characters who are terrible people and feature little to no sentimentality unlike most other sitcoms. They also share another similarity which is that they have one primary female character in the main cast who manages to stand on her own and not just be eye candy for the men.

So comparing Elaine Benes and Dee Reynolds, who would you say is funnier, more well written and simply more iconic?

What would you say as a Mad Men fan, these three prestige dramas that Mad Men often gets compared to do better than it?

As an honest Mad Men fan, what would you say these three shows do better than Mad Men and why they are more often talked about than Mad Men?

I am not trying to start any controversy, I am just asking as an honest fan of all these 4 shows.

What opinions/judgements that people have about Lara Croft do you feel are sexist in nature?

I hope this isn't too controversial. The title is pretty self explanatory as I am asking about opinions or comments that people have about Lara Croft that you have seen/heard that you feel are sexist. Simple as that.

It can be from anyone ranging from your friends to the general fanbase to the executives and developers.

Hot Take: Chosen is just fine as a series finale and not all that great

I guess this will be controversial because most people I have seen love the series finale and I'd say they are not wrong for that. It wraps up it's plot points and characters in a mostly satisfying way (except Anya) and is exciting in terms of the scale of action even if the CGI has aged poorly.

I love Buffy I don't think it's a bad finale but honestly, compared to the other season finales of Buffy, I think it falls a kind of flat maybe even because Season 7 is my least favorite of the show. The big girl power speech that Buffy makes is very heartwarming but it just feels so cheesy and on the nose not really fitting the rest of the show and the first evil is just not that compelling of a final villain. Also, Spike's big sacrifice rings hollow for me personally knowing he is resurrected and comes back in Angel.

If I were given a choice, I would honestly pick every other season finale of the show over Chosen (Restless and Grave included) as I just find them way more interesting.

Again, to reiterate, it's a fine ending to the show but I just don't care for it all that much.

Season 1 is incredibly underrated by the fanbase

I just saw a post from a couple days ago where the OP said that he skips Season 1 and just goes straight to Season 2 because he thinks Season 1 is just mediocre (Prick also had the balls to call Gandolfini a mid tier actor in the beginning). It truly baffled me because Season 1 of The Sopranos to me is one of the greatest first seasons of any show I have ever seen.

Sure, it's less polished than other seasons in terms of visuals and continuity and it's got weaker episodes like Boca and A Hit is a Hit but to say it's a bad season is absolutely insane. Right out the gate in the Pilot itself, the show established all the themes of the death of the american dream, generational trauma, familial ties, the regularness of life, etc. It perfectly introduced and set the stage for all the characters going forward in the show. Tony himself is such a well realised and fully formed character in the Pilot itself.

Not to mention, so many of the iconic and quotable lines in the show come from Season 1. It's such a charming and well realised Season 1 and to see it get so much criticism is insane.

Season 1 just looks weaker compared to the rest of the show but isn't that a good thing? That the show continued to improve and not just peak in their first season.

What are the genuine criticisms/complaints you have with the Angelina Jolie Lara Croft movies and with her version of the character?

These movies are often praised primarily because of Jolie's portrayal and being pretty faithful to the classic games.

But I want to ask, what are the genuine criticisms/flaws you have with the Angelina Jolie Tomb Raider movies and specifically with her version of the characters? It can be anything from the writing, the acting, the dialogues, maybe the sexualization; any of your grievances with the movies.

Please feel free to share your thoughts.

My personal ratings for all the episodes

Don't get peeved off if I rated one of your favorite episodes lower, I still love the show like you all. Also, I rated the episodes without relying on decimals as it's just how I like rating.

(Note:- Season 3 Episode 22 on the seriesgraph app was "Earshot", and the two episodes before that I have rated 10 were the Graduation Day two parter so just keep that in mind)

Please feel free to share your thoughts.

The terrifying book end of Tony's dreams

A detail I found interesting that I feel nobody seems to mention is that the first and last dream sequence of Tony were both in Melfi's office and how the last dream sequence basically summizes Tony's terrifying acceptance of his nature.

The first dream sequence ever in the show is three episodes after the show starts in Season 1 Episode 4, "Meadowlands" with Tony in Melfi's office getting startled by Hesh outside Melfi's office and it devolving into some of his worst fears as AJ sees him outside Melfi's door presumably not wanting him to find out about who he really is (which he does by the end of this episode), multiple weird allusions of various members in his crew and Livia in the form of Melfi maintaining her control over Tony. What I feel this first dream sequence establishes is Tony's fears about his true nature being exposed to the people close to him and his subconscious desire to escape from the Mafia he got into.

Cut to the last dream sequence which is now three episodes from the end of the show in Season 6 Episode 18, "Kennedy and Heidi" and it is right after Tony has killed Christopher and it is again in Melfi's office but now it's completely submerged in darkness as Melfi is barely responsive to him as he starts with his usual bullshitting but honestly comes clean to his own subconscious about feeling absolutely nothing for killing Christopher and I feel like this last dream sequence is a perfect book end for all the dream sequences of Tony in the show as he has come fully around to accepting his true nature and what he has truly devolved into by the end of the show with barely any regrets or compassion left.

Anyways, 4$ a pound.

Why so much hate towards the Survivor games?

I recently played all 3 Survivor games for the first time as they were on sale for a steep discount and while I don't think they are amazing by any means and have flaws (a little too linear, half baked overall storyline and kind of repetitive) but I'd say overall they are worth playing and pretty good on their own.

I am kind of taken aback by the absolutely over the top hatred towards these new Survivor games as there are classic TR fans who genuinely consider them horrible and an insult to the franchise mainly because of Lara Croft being a different character from the older games and being different in gameplay from the originals. But, I'd say that this trilogy is just a different interpretation of the franchise and it's completely fine to not like them but to call them an insult is way too harsh. I understand not vibing with the Survivor Trilogy but some TR fans act like the classic games have been forever tarnished and erased just because of this Trilogy which I think way too hyperbolic.

I don't understand why Survivor gets so much hate when you can apply the same criticisms to the LAU Trilogy (which is praised often) as well in terms of linear and repetitive gameplay and even the storyline.
