Bit boring with the colour palette, but, well… it’s the Gray Knights

Bit boring with the colour palette, but, well… it’s the Gray Knights
Hello all, I’m 32 and have recently been thinking about switching careers out of class 1 HGV and into something with hopefully less hours a week. This is a very early stage of research, so forgive my ignorance, I just need a lifestyle change. Frequent 15 hour work days are taking their toll on me.
In terms of becoming an electrician, an apprenticeship seems to be the only way, which makes sense. I understand and accept that it’ll take anywhere from 2-4 years, along with a low pay salary, which is doable for me. My only concern is the rewards for investment. Are there many jobs to choose between or is it more of a “you’re lucky you landed this, best stick it out” type situation?
Also, how do you find the job to be, overall? Looking back on your personal experience, would you say it is worth the leap?
Again, this probably comes across as very ill-informed (because it is lol), any responses are appreciated. Thanks for taking the time to read!
I cannot equip my legacy rank on him. When I try, it throws me into the ‘view in store’. It’s the only god I have this problem on, which is annoying because I had 5 stars on him in S1.
Hoping this is a general issue, and not something specifically wrong with my account.
Yes, there are probably many, but just pick one. I’ll go first:
When someone is driving at like 48mph in the slow lane of a dual carriageway, so you go to overtake them, get about halfway alongside, then they start to match your speed. You’re left either hogging the fast lane, or being forced to slow down again and get behind them.
But of course, you already know that they will slow back down once you move across…I cannot stand people that hold you hostage like this.
I’ll start; the Pyromane.
It looks so out of place and simply does too much. I get that it’s one of the fantastic tames so it needs to have appeal, but come on… you’re riding a cat that is literally on fire and you take no damage from it. As a player drawn to the aspect of survival and overall challenge, I’ll go over why I think it is a ridiculous addition to the game and has subsequently ruined some of what I love about the experience.
Firstly, the ability to shrink down to a shoulder pet. Why? How does that even fit into its whole aesthetic/lore (lol) theme? And that’s not even mentioning that at launch, even PvE players were restricted to throwing out cryopods in range of a fridge, meaning cave exploration was almost always restricted to smaller mounts. Not to worry though, the Pyromane has you covered! Don’t worry about the rules of the game, you can circumvent them with one small payment! PvP hasn’t changed with this rule (as far as I’m aware) so the Pyro will remain a must have.
It allows you to take no damage from lava. So essentially, the mid game stage of Gen 1 collecting Magma eggs has become trivial. Just go out and tame a Pyro, then stroll though, safe in the knowledge that you’re essentially playing on creative mode. Which might I add seems unbelievably goofy, considering the Magma has an enclosed saddle to keep you protected for the same reason. Now you can swim naked, unprotected through it with direct contact. I hate this so much.
They require no saddles. No need for all that senseless hide farming, just hop on and go. After all, we wouldn’t want to have to invest any kind of time into the game to reap rewards, would we? Boss army? No problem. Never mind having to find/trade for a decent saddle BP. Get with the times, old man.
As I said, it simply does too much for what it is. When you start adding ‘Jack of all trade’ creatures into the game, you inevitably shrink the game down into a smaller version of itself. Why go and tame a Ferrox for its shoulder mount possibility when something else has power crept it out of the equation. Why bother grinding out for fur armor? The Pyro will keep you warm when you ride it in the snow. Remember the challenge of harvesting and cooking off prime meat in time? No more! It cooks it in its inventory. The game basically plays itself now.
I’m not saying that you should hate it. If you enjoy it, great! Get your money’s worth. It’s popular for all the reasons above, and I’m sure more. I’m just saying that creatures like this worry me for what the state of the game will be in a couple of years. One or two more of these ridiculously overpowered releases, and the game is going to essentially power creep itself into a boring version where there’s only ever a reason to have a handful of creatures available.
Seriously, how is removing all the detail of the ocean floor in favour of a Black Flag-type gameplay loop remotely a good idea? I don’t remember ever being this disappointed before.
You made Gen 1 years ago on last gen consoles somehow look 3x better than this. I’m stunned. Ocean exploration will now just consist of a handful of islands. Nothing else. Great.
What’s next?
Expansion release day, pretty much every year.
It’s funny to think that this was once one of the biggest concerns we had, even so far as venting frustration. Now I’m sure a lot of us would kill to get this kind of hype back.
Hello all! Migrating Destiny player here trying to get into Warframe. I gotta say, the new player experience is very overwhelming so far 😅
Is it better to focus on one Frame and mod it, or farm for multiple to cover more roles early on?
Also, looking to join a clan. Are there any recommendations for a new player with 0 experience? Thanks!
Oh look, another hunter in the solo lane. And another mage support? You shouldn’t have.
So enjoyable that frontlining takes a backseat to a second damage ADC. It’s super healthy for new players learning the game to just think there’s basically two roles and nothing else.
