Time Machine (2002)

After re-watching the Time Machine (2002) version, how devastating would it be if the moon was broken into pieces? I realize that the moon contributes to tidal forces and such but cracking the moon into pieces, would it cause severe climate issues as shown in the movie?

I recently came across this (new?) type of headphone. I typically use over the ear headphones as I cannot tolerate ear buds longer than a few mins. Does anyone have these and if so, how are they? I wear prescription glasses and just wondering if they might be cumbersome.
