How Common Is It For You To Lie About Having A Boyfriend, Either To Stop Romantic Advances Or To Test Someone's Intentions?

I am pretty well aware of the "I have a boyfriend" line to shoot down guys you dont like, but do you also use it as a shit test to test one's interest as platonic or romantic?

I am of the camp that platonic relationships between men and women, ignoring mutuals or near-family relationships, are contextually romantic. The friends to lovers trope is both gender's most preferred avenue for relationships to start according to surveys, but that in of itself implies alot of platonic relationships are pseudo-romantic, by using the friends to lovers avenue. With that in mind, are you using "I have a boyfriend" to filter for platonic men, which theoretically could end in the friends-to-lovers trope, accidentally or intentionally on either persons part?

what happens when the friends to lovers trope, alot of women's ideal, occurs? Then was that entire pre-dating relationship retconned to actually be romantic? was it platonic or romantic? It seems like self referring. If you like him and dated him, it was always platonic. if you dont like him and didnt date him, it was always secretly romantic. It seems like what the friendship was in reality depends on its ultimate outcome and not what was actually occuring. I dont often hear "he pretended to be my friend to date me and then we dated" which kind of means no true friendship can turn into romance, because what if you date, and he says he always wanted to date you from the start? does that friendship get re-written as romantic over platonic? Can a guy not view you romantically and treat you platonically, now he's "hiding his true intentions?" it seems like an impossible standard.

I hope I got my point across well, I just find this very confusing

Why are Women More Receptive To Talking When They Have Boyfriends?

I have been talking to people alot more lately and I cant help but come to the conclusion that taken women are much more comfortable talking to me and I find it kind of bizarre. Why does your relationship status influence your willingness to have a conversation? Is it that more social people are more likely to be in relationships?* Do they like the attention and validation without commitment? Do single women think youre always hitting on them if you talk to them?

You are crazy if you think men are going to work hard in this country without any female affection

title says it all. more men every year are receiving nearly 0 affection from women. the libido is an important part of a man’s motivation and the current climate does not allow for its healthy management. look to east Asia. china has a surplus of millions of men and chinese Gen Z is basically walking dead. korea has birthed the worst civil gender war in the world. Japanese hikikomori, mostly male, are essentially invisible and inert. this is becoming the reality in the US more and more. the inability to partner up is detrimental to a male workers well being and ergo productivity in our society, be it manufacturing goods or defending it.

How do you feel about "asian fetishization?"

I've heard the term more over the last two years along with this "very chinese time in my life" thing (that i really only heard about through the criticism of it.) What are you all thinking?

I hate the idea of self-improving for a relationship

It disgusts me how much people say to work on yourself when that does not predict relationship success. very shitty people with no prospects get in relationships. healthy people with rich lives and amibition get nothing. Dating is not a meritocracy. "working on yourself" is nearly meaningless with how superficial dating standards are. no one cares about the internal work and triumph, they want the best they can get with the least amount of effort, which means skipping over people who dont fit their tiktok brained ideals, meaning good looking and rich because giving someone the chance to show you who they are is just too much nowadays. people gotta get back to laying in bed doom scrolling ASAP, no time to talk to people!!!!
