Forgot Twitter + FB on DS-160, OFC done, F-1 interview in 4 days — update or leave it?
F-1 applicant, India, interview at Delhi consulate on Aug 20, 2026. CMU MISM, classes start Aug 24, program's hard latest-arrival deadline is Sep 4 (I have this in email from the department, not on letterhead).
I already completed my OFC/biometrics. Just realized I did not declare my Twitter/X and Facebook handles on the DS-160. Both accounts are essentially dormant — maybe one or two likes over the past few years, no posts. The email IDs linked to those accounts are different from the one on my DS-160, so on the surface they're not obviously traceable to me.
I know the technically correct move is to file a new DS-160 with the handles added, update the appointment, and bring both confirmation pages to the interview. My worry is the timing:
- If I update the DS-160 and it triggers enhanced social media vetting / 221(g), am I risking a delay that pushes me past Sep 4?
- Has anyone actually experienced longer processing purely because they added more handles to a corrected DS-160?
- For people who filed an updated DS-160 after OFC — did the consulate actually use the new one, or did they process the old one anyway?
- Anyone got approved on the spot recently with disclosed dormant accounts vs. anyone who got 221(g)'d because the officer found undisclosed ones?
- Do I add Reddit to the list?
Any data points from recent (2025-2026) F-1 interviews in India would help a lot. Trying to make the call in the next 24 hours. Thanks.
