Question about Pershing Square Station.

I don't know if I'm remembering this wrong or if anyone else remembers this, or if it's just me, but I could have sworn the lights at Pershing Square station would flash, almost like making it look like the lights were jumping around, but they never have done that. But I'm not too sure what I'm remembering them, but I could have sworn it was from this station. I just don't remember where I saw it from.

Does anybody know what happens to the old station maps that get removed after new ones are put in?

I bought one of those station maps from the shop a while back, one of the ones they actually use in the stations. The pictures made it look like it was gonna be an older early 2010s version, which is what I wanted, but I ended up getting a 2022 one instead, which I’m not really into since I like the older style more.

I’m just curious what actually happens to the old maps when they get swapped out. Do they keep them somewhere or do they just get tossed or recycled? And do any of the older ones ever actually end up in circulation or are they pretty much gone once they’re replaced?

Pershing Square Station Los Angeles

Not sure if this was the right place to post. The subway system that I use in Los Angeles has a subway station that I thought fit the aesthetic of vaporwave quite a bit.

This station opened in 1993

What is everyone's opinion on the new D line station's artwork or the design of it?

I mean, idk. I want to like it, but I really don’t. Idk what it is, but it just feels generic, and it seems like the only artwork is just tiles and painted murals. And I find that the stations look exactly the same, basically. And some other things are the floors — they have that weird white and black line going across them. And the platforms are smaller in the area next to the stairs and escalator. I find I have to step over the yellow line just to get across people. But I do appreciate that the platform level is kinda reminiscent of the old stations, and I like how the elevators still have the classic LA Metro Subway elevators. But idk, I just prefer the older Red Line stations from the 80s and 90s. They have always made me feel a certain way.

I was at Central Library and when I looked up I knew i recognizing the art from my favorite station.

Also the station opened the same year that the atrium at Central Library opened.

It looks like street running tracks almost, but I don't think it is, but it kind of gives me the street running subway vibes that New York City has.
