These have to be at least 5+ years old (new never used)so I probably didn't pay much. But I can only imagine what 32gb costs now.
Not trying to sell anything admins, it's just weird how the PC world has flipped upside down.
Build a PC from New Old Stock off the shelf for a family member that wants to play with Linux distros (I told her about Virtual Machines but..) so here I go with a freebie of unsold stuff. MSI Pro B550M-VC Wifi, Ryzen 5600x, Sapphire RX 580, 2x8GB Corsair Vengeance, Corsair RM650 PSU in a Be Quiet Pure Base 500DX, Crucial M.2 and a WD 8TB HDD.
Super simple build, power on and Debug lit up CPU. Well shoot, how about clear CMOS and BIOS update dummy. Done and Done. Took about 7-8 minutes for the CMOS light (and the LED on the USB drive) to stop flashing. Remove the stick and start. Debug skips past CPU and stops at Memory. Shut off and re-seat, same thing. Switched sticks around same thing reseat reseat reseat same thing. Remove one stick leave one in the 2 slot same thing. SWAP sticks and it light goes out (no other Debug lights come on) and the GPU fans start up which and I can hear the HDD spinning which tells me I'm rolling.
Lets try my luck, put the loose stick in the 4 slot and restart, Nope... Debug. Swapped again, nope... Debug. Went back to the one stick no Debug. Well damn.
She just gonna have to run this puppy with 8GB unless she wanna buy a set at todays prices!!!
What are yall using? Gnome Maps, CoMaps, Marble or what? I use Google Maps on my Android phone and tablet but I want something to replace Google on the desktop.
Linus and Luke talk about the Framework 13 Pro posted over 50% of their sales are being ordered with Ubuntu. Anyway, I'm gonna install and run it to see if I "see" anything. My machine is running fine (no crashes or artifacts or nothing) so unless it messes up I probably wont see any difference.
