Flamboyance is someone who is very expressive and bold, either in the way they dress or the way they portray themselves. It usually applies to celebrities but it can be anyone in media.

A lot of well known American TV chefs like Julia Stewart, Paula Deen, Bobby Flay, etc. wouldn't be popular if it wasn't for the OG: Julia Child. She transformed the way Americans saw international cuisines through her virtues of humble simplicity in her televised recipies.

As an American, I have always been fond of Elis Regina and Pelé (pictured above). Here's a photo with one of the best singers in Brazil, along with one of the greatest in international football history.

In the early 1970s, a plan to extend SH-225 west to Downtown Houston (Harrisburg Freeway) was ultimately cancelled due to local opposition from community leaders from the East End, Second Ward, and Magnolia neighborhood.

The plan would've significantly changed the way the eastern part of Houston would have looked, by destroying and dividing minority communities. The only remnants of this project is the western end of SH-225, which ends abrutly at a stub.

Similiarly, in the 1960s, a right-of-way was built on the side of Fairmont Parkway and Red Bluff Rd in order to built a highway (Gap Highway) that would've connected to SH-146 in the east. However, the project never took off due to funding issues and shifting priorities. The proposal was finally killed off in 2010 by TXDOT.

On March 16, 2003, Rachel Corrie was protesting against the bulldozing of Palestinian homes near the city of Rafah in Gaza. She attempted to block the bulldozer to prevent further damage but she would end up crushed and killed by the machine in a heinous act of murder by Israel.
