Canyon stitched 360 frame size

Hi, I am thinking of buying a canyon stitched 360 frame to build up into a dirt jump bike using parts I already have. I am 171cm (5ft 7'') tall, the frame is sold in a short and a long, and recommends a rider height of 140-170cm for the short and 160-200cm for the long so I sit pretty much in the middle. I have never ridden a dirtjump bike before but plan on using it for pump tracks, learning dirt jumps and basic tricks and generaly messing about in the woods on flow trails etc. I ride a giant reign enduro bike in medium with a 452 reach, I was also inbetween small and medium here, I found I was struggling to manual and get my weight back on my medium so have put a shorter stem on it and higher rise bars which has helped a lot. I also used to ride a small 2012 transition bottlerocket with a reach of 383 which felt fine at the time (feels tiny now but thats because im used to my big enduro bike with modern geometry). I have also owned a cove shocker and marin northside trail both small in the past and didnt have a problem with riding them (dont know the reach numbers as this was before reach was published) So going off this im more inclined to think I would fit a small better, also the fact dirt jumpers are more for playing around on, whipping, manualing, pumping, jibbing etc things a more smaller playfull bike enjoys not bombing fast over rough terrain where a longer bike would be better and i always have my enduro bike for that. But as I say I have never rode a dirt jumper so dont know if I should size up or down, does the longer bike make steep dirt jumps easier for example?

Lowering early fox 36 forks for dirt jumper?

So I'm thinking of building a dirt jumper for fun, I would need to get a frame but should have enough spare parts for the rest of the build. I have these old fox air 36 r forks, I know they can be lowered as I remember making and installing a 10mm spacer in them back in the day as they had a crazy long axle to crown length for the bike I was using. If I were to lower them to 100mm travel they should have an axle to crown of about 490mm, they don't seem to have any compression adjustments just rebound and air pressure, would these be suitable for a basic dirt jump build? (the photo of them at 100mm is just with the air let out, I haven't taken them apart to install a bigger lowering spacer yet)

Can Baizhu Fit into a Nilou bloom team?

I would rather got a new character from the selector than a con, thinking that might be Baizhu. Just wondering if he can be used in a Nilou bloom team if so what would the team look like? My current team is Nilou (c1 from temper thyself ), Nahida, lauma and Barbera (c6) as the EM driver. Doesnt have to be 100% min maxed as I do have other teams for stygian so mostly just for fun / domains etc.

How does this old GT tempest frame compare to a modern dirt jump frame?

So I have recently got back into MTB after a 10+ year break and I'm riding mostly dh / park type stuff on a 2023 giant reign, I seem to have a load of 26" parts kicking around from when I used to ride back in the day and was thinking it would be fun to build up a hardtail for practicing jumps / dirt jumps / pumptracks. I have this GT tempest frame I used to have build as a general mess about hardtail. I was just wondering how this frame compares to a modern DJ bike? Have DJ bikes changed much in the past 15/20 years in the same way enduro style bikes have radically changed in geometry/wheel size etc? Would it be worth building this frame up or would I be better off getting a newer dj bike / frame?

Double strike of momentum delver cost

So I fancy playing Poe again next league and trying to hit 1000 depth delve, (got to 700 a few years ago with msotz or mana forged arrows) I'm a semi casual player, won't be finishing my atlas on the first day or anything. I'm thinking of league starting RF possibly transition into cws chieftain or even some other cheap marauder league starter such as boneshatter. From looking at the patch notes I cannot see anything suggesting a nerf to double strike of momentum jugg? Just wondering roughly how much currency it would cost to build a double strike jugg, capable of getting down to 1000 depth delve say a couple of weeks/a month into the league.

Cast while stunned chieftain and bossing

Hi, im thinking of playing poe again next league and going to try hit 1000 delve, deepest I have got before was 700 ( it was with manaforged arrows or a Mjölner build). I know we dont have the patch notes yet but cast while stunned chieftain looks an interesting build capable of delving with an easy playstyle like RF. Im just wondering if the build will be able to kill Aul in deep delve, I know there is a ring swap for bossing but the build is described as bad at bossing, I dont want to get to the point where i have a bunch of Auls lined up and a build that cannot kill him at all. thanks

Has anyone vented there shower room downwards?

Hi, so I am converting a fiat ducato and I have a tiny shower room behind the drivers seat (will most likely be used as a drying room, the occasional shower as well as housing a toilet)

My plan was to install a small roof fan (max air dome) but I would rarther have space for an extra solar panel on the roof. I was thinking of putting a vent into the shower and inline fan on the shelf above the cab and ducting down and out of a hole I would cut into the floor next to the handbrake as seen on the second picture (I dont think the piece of floor is overly structural but could weld a strengthening plate to it if its thought to be a concern) . It would have to be 3 inch pipe because of where the handbrake is, but I think I would be able to pipe it all in 3" solvent weld pipe so there shouldnt be any moisture leaking out. Does this look a reasonable idea, and has anyone done anything similar to avoid having a fan in the celing/van wall of there shower?

Could I use a power station as backup / redundancy for an electrical system

Hi Just starting to build my van and working out the size of my electrical cabinet, im thinking of something along the line of 400ah lithium battery, 400w solar, 2000w inverter, just trying to decide between 2x 230ah or 1x 460ah battery.

The only real advantage of 2x230ah I can see (as long as 1x460ah will allow enough draw for the inverter) is redundancy if one battery fails i would not be without power. Could I use a power station as redundancy instead as shown in the second picture (obviously would be switched and fused appropriately).

I can see a power station being a usefull thing to have in general anyways (for example in winter when theres not a lot of solar I could charge it at work/family members house then charge my ebike up off it or something?), also there is a price difference in the batterys (fogstar 2x230=£1280 1x460=£919) easier to wire up a single battery which is also smaller than 2 batterys. Just wondering if a powerstation can be easily made to fit into an existing system in an emergency such as battery failure ( this would isolate most of the existing system except solar, alternator and 12v) to provide the 12v whilst charging from solar and/or alternator.

Thanks

Permanently hide/disable google apps on an android phone (root?)

Hi I have been using a pink barbie dumbphone (eu version) for the past year, and I like not having a ''computer'' in my pocket whilst im away from home. The thing is I have recently got back into mountain biking and find myself riding downhill tracks mostly by myself and im thinking it would make sense to have a phone that has gps and what 3 words in case I have an accident and need to explain to the emergancy services where exactly I am, also it would be nice to have google maps or waze with live traffic infomation, as im doing a lot more driving to get to places to ride my bike.

Because of these reasons (mostly been able to pinpoint my location if I have a big accident alone in the middle of nowhere on my bike) I have decided to try useing my old smart phone but remove or hide the apps I dont want to be using most notably Chrome, youtube and the playstore. I would like these apps to be somewhat permently removed or hidden, in that I cannot just go into the phones setting menu and enable these apps whilst im out and about, im aware this might be possable by using a laptop to ''root'' the phone somehow? The phone in question is a poco f3 but im happy to buy a different phone if that makes removing these apps easier. Has anyone on here hidden or removed google apps from a smartphone in a way that requires more than 30 seconds in the menu to re enable them? or can point me in the right direction to do this, if its even possible. Thanks.

smartphone with only google maps installed as a sat nav replacement?

Hi, I have been using a dumb phone for nearly a year now, for my incar navigation i have been using an old sat nav unit, I miss haveing live traffic updates for road closures/roadworks and accidents, I know that with some of the higher end satnavs you can subscribe for traffic updates but from what I can tell these use the 2g network which is being phased out. I was wondering if I could buy a smartphone, and a simcard and use this only as a satnav with google maps, I would like to remove or disable all other apps including chrome and the play store, in a way that is harder to enable again than a checkbox in the phones menu, is seems like this can be achieved by rooting the phone? Has anyone done anything similar to this, is the a certain smartphone that would be suited to this (easier to root etc)

Lifetime updates on garmin sat nav units?

So im thinking of getting a new sat nav for my car, my previous sat nav was a tomtom upon trying to update the maps I found out tom toms version of "lifetime updates'' is actually is a set amount of time they expect you to use the device for, not the lifetime of the owner, or the lifetime of the device (the 14 year old satnav is still working fine). I was looking at the Garmin drive 53, it is advertised as having lifetime map updates, does anyone know how Garmin interprets ''lifetime updates'' Thanks
