When I approach a speed breaker, I usually slow down and shift to a lower gear (typically first gear). After crossing it, I shift back up to a higher gear. As far as I know, this is what most people do.

However, one of my colleagues suggested a different approach. According to him, I should slow down by using the brakes and clutch without downshifting before the speed breaker. Then, after crossing it, I should shift to a lower gear and proceed to upshift as needed.
