Octane and ethanol

Octane and ethanol

Wondering what y’all’s thoughts are on this: I live at high (ish) altitude- about 6000’ above sea level. I always put premium in (91) her but it has ethanol in it. Was in the mountains over the weekend and found 91 without octane and she ran like a raped ape all the way home. There is a no ethanol option here in the city but it’s only 87. Is it better to do the 87 without octane or the 91 with?

Posers

You know those people who are like “ I also care for my LO with dementia” and imply that it’s not as difficult as we are making it out to be. Then you find out later on that their LO lives 5 states away and they call them once every couple weeks and consider that as caring for them. Like no, bitch, it’s different. But you can’t really say anything so you just let them be self righteous because when you are actually caring for someone with dementia it’s hard as hell, but at least your self doubt is now gone because you know that they have no idea what they’re talking about and you’re not being a drama queen at all. Anyway. Those people suck.

Grocery shopping overwhelming-but she always wants to go

I'm wondering how to handle the grocery shopping problem we've been having the last several trips to the store. My grandma is adamant that she wants to go to the grocery store, but once we get there she gets overwhelmed and can't make any decisions. I used to be able to present options like 'do you want potato salad or macaroni salad?' and she'd pick one. But for the last few months, any question I ask, her answer is "I don't know". She walks beyond slow and gets slower and slower as we go through the store. By the time we are done she's so tired I have to leave her at the door and go get the truck. She will not even CONSIDER a motorized cart or wheel chair. Its out of the question. It would be so much easier if I could either just go myself or (even better) have the groceries delivered, but she insists that she wants to go and pick out her own stuff every week. She's throws a fit if I even suggest she just let me handle it. I absolutely dread these store trips every week because it takes two full hours and the entire time I feel like I'm just dragging her through the store at a snails pace. By the end I'm always pissed off and frustrated with the whole experience. I spend all day beforehand getting more and more anxious. And now she wants to go buy new jeans today, which we've attempted to do the last 2 weeks, but she doesn't like anything she sees and she doesn't want to pay $75 for a pair of jeans (don't blame her for this!). She wants to go downtown to get jeans where she used to go, but that store doesn't even exist now. So she said she wants to go to a western store. There is only one of those around and she doesn't like it. Any advice or thoughts on either of these issues is welcome.

AT4X Window Shade

I want a sun shade for my windshield that is AT4X branded and can't find one. I found one that says AT4, but I don't want to short change my truck. Has anyone seen one with the X? Just trying to maximize the inflated ego that came with the truck.

Managing Pet Meds

My grandma, who still lives alone (which she 100% shouldn't) has a couple dogs. One has a torn acl or mcl and should be on pain meds, as we opted to not do the surgery due to the dogs age and the cost of the surgery (around $9000). The other dog has a lump on her leg that is painful and needs looked at by a vet. However, my grandma is not able to manage their meds. I ended up taking away the dogs meds last time because she was giving them to both dogs and sometimes taking them herself. I tried EVERYTHING to make it work, including pill dispensers, calling her at med time to walk her through it on the phone, using color coded medication bottles, writing the instructions on the bottles and on a piece of paper, using the jubilee tv to try to walk her through it when I could see her and guide her. The jubilee method worked in the moment. But then she'd give the dog medicine randomly after forgetting she already did it. As much as i know the dog with the new lump on its leg needs to see a vet, I know she can't manage the meds she'll probably need to take afterwards. Grandma will NOT let me take the dog to my house. I live 30 min away and can't drive there twice a day to give the dog meds. I really don't know what to do. My grandma won't listen to reason. She has no idea she has alzheimer's and thinks she is fine and manages everything just fine and by herself. We have home care 4 days a week for 4 hours, but its the other 20 hours a day that she makes bad decisions. The homecare people can't help with meds anyway. I'm the only one caring for her and have no help and no one willing to help. I can't leave the meds with grandma because I don't want her to over medicate the dogs or take them herself. Any thoughts on a solution?

ADHD Be Like needing to make a grocery list and becoming an expert on how to make bricks instead.

I have to- I WANT to- make my grocery list and get to the store before church gets out. So I just watched 3 videos on how bricks are made and how to make mud bricks. And now I'm on Reddit. Another day..... another rabbit hole. I had all these fantastic ideas for dinners this week. Then the minute I sit down with a pad and a pen my mind goes blank. I can't think of anything, so I stare out into the yard at my retaining wall I just built and now I legit can think of nothing but how were the bricks made? Why are the pink and gray ones cheaper than the solid red ones? Surely its more labor intensive to mix the pink and the gray. Queue youtube videos on how they're made. Now I want to make all my own bricks. I will make 2 and abandon it forever.
