Rookie FTM question

I feel so silly asking this (seems like it should be self explanatory) so please don’t judge me 😅

I know adding the formula powder to the bottle adds more volume. If I make a 4oz bottle and the 2 scoops of power adds volume to make the bottle 4.5oz am I still giving baby a 4 oz bottle or is it technically now counted as a 4.5oz bottle?

4 weeks is no joke

Omg.. I don’t even know what to say. I wish I was lucky enough to have a unicorn 🦄 baby, but good golly Molly this 4 week fussiness is no joke. I know baby is truly waking up to the world. The overstimulation and gas has wrapped up, but jeez I’m so tired. Babe won’t sleep for longer than 30 minutes at a time. I keep reminding myself that this stage won’t last long, better days are coming, sleep filled nights are coming but sh** this is hard.

I’m struggling

My 3 week old hit her growth spurt and now just won’t sleep for longer than 30-45 minutes. I know this is normal and I know this will get better over time but I’m struggling today. I’m so tired. I’ve been up with her since 3:30 am. I co-slept with her on accident this morning for about an hour and freaked myself out. She doesn’t like the baby carrier.

I keep telling myself better days are coming. Sleep filled nights are coming

Pitcher prep?

I was curious on if doing the pitcher method was actually useful or time saving? I currently prep all of my bottles with the water and as baby gets hungry just mix the formula but I’m thinking about getting the dr brown’s pitcher to make a huge batch. The only qualm I have is waiting that 3-4 minutes for the bottle warmer and having baby cry her little eyes out 😭

Sleep Tips

I didn’t know whether to flag this as sleep or tips and tricks

Honestly just needing a good laugh right now. What are the most absurd/random things that help your baby fall asleep? Or tricks you learned along the way that just seem crazy?

So far, my girl loves the vent fan on the microwave + singing “you’ll be in my heart” at the same time lol

WTF

I’m only 2 weeks PP and just like the title says… WTF. Nobody could have prepared for how hard these past 2 weeks were going to be. I had an unplanned c-section because my girl was too big for me to delivery naturally, so I’m still trying to process that. Between having a 2 week old, no sleep, barely eating, etc it feels like I’m stuck in a loop. I don’t have a concept of “time” outside of day time or night time. PP hormones/emotions are through the roof and I feel like I make no sense half the time. I know people say it gets better and I’m holding on to that, but wtf… the last thing I want to hear is that “you’ll forget about these hard days” because no. I will never forget that this is by far the hardest thing I’ve ever done or had to go through.

While I’m immensely grateful to have created life and to be a FTM, I can also be extremely frustrated by all of the unknowns.
