Food recommendations?

Getting a puppy this week and I'm still struggling with the food! I'm trying to find a good fish-based kibble that won't break the bank! Would love to hear what everyone is currently feeding and how it's going as well as things to avoid!

Does anyone use Nutrish Rachael Ray Salmon dog food?

Amazon.com: Nutrish Rachael Ray Adult Dry Dog Food Real Salmon, Veggies & Brown Rice Recipe, 26 lb. Bag : Pet Supplies Looking for a budget friendly but still balanced and healthy food for a Keeshond. The breeder recommended a fish base, and nothing grain free, however I'm not sure I like the specific food their using (just a personal dislike) so I'm trying to find something else. This has a similar guaranteed analysis as far as protein, fats, fiber and moisture goes, and similar order of ingredients as what the breeder recommended. But I would like to hear from some people who actually use it or why you don't use it. Thank you!

How did you let your puppy inside when first bring it home?

I've heard mixed thoughts on putting it immediately in a playpen, crate, letting it roam the house free, etc. Imagine you just picked up a puppy, you got out of the car, let it go potty, now what? You're ready to go inside but how do you do it? Ty in advance!

Help me name my puppy!

I thought I was getting a girl, so I had so many girl names that I loved ready to go (like Eva, Kira, Clove, Sage, etc.), however it looks like I'll be coming home with a little boy! He's a gorgeous and goofy Keeshond, he's the quietest, most affectionate, and a little thinker too! He does have a ridiculously chubby, bear-like face and he totally looks like a goofball! I'm stuck with names, I LOVE Koda, but I want something a little less common, I also like Basil and Milo, but again, I'm trying to find something very unique, short (or something that has a short nickname) and that matches is quiet but goofy personality. I also love botanical names and the name Mars, but alas he's not red/orange....Thank you all in advance!

Getting a Eurasier puppy soon (Yay!) any tips?

I've been doing dog care and training research for the last 2 years or so and am so excited to welcome a Eurasier into my home! But no matter what you read online, real life experience is always the best, so I wanted to ask some people (you!) what your experiences have been and if you have any things, you wish you knew before getting one! Thank you all in advance! :)

What DON'T you like about your Keeshond?

I know i know, you love everything about your baby, but there has to be more "cons" then simply shedding a lot. I'm getting a Kee puppy (talking to a breeder now to get on a waiting list) and I've done a LOT of research on the breed, but the only "downside" I've come across is they shed a lot during shedding season. Also interested in hearing unique traits yours might have, not the usual "goofy, outgoing, smart, etc." but things people don't usually talk about. Thank you all for the input! :)

Help me find the perfect dog breed!

I live on the outskirts of the City, I have a small/medium fenced yard, I'm in a quiet neighborhood, I live a very active lifestyle (walks, hikes, etc.) some of my current fav dogs breeds are Mini Aussies, Mini Schnauzers, Keeshond, Golden Aussies, Assaliers, and nederlandse-kooikerhondje! I would prefer a small/medium size (20-30lbs) dog with a medium-long coat (but I don't mind short either!). It has to be easy to train, low aggression "rating" and good with kitties! High temps in the summer are 80-90 F, lows in the winter are 20-30 F. I would love an outgoing, friendly dog, emphasis on the easy to train! I've done a lot of training research and worked with shelter dogs as well! I work mostly from home and am only gone for about 3-4 hours at a time a few times a week! I am fully dedicated and excited to getting a dog and have been preparing for many years! I also would prefer to get from a breeder (I've already found several I'm interested in!). I've done my research on dog breeds of course, but I wanted to hear some more opinions! Feel free to ask any questions below!
