I personally say no it would be worse because that would mean losing to teams like a young Celtics team the Atlanta hawks and the Raptors which would have been a bigger blemish than losing in the finals ex: the media made him out as a failure for losing to Pierce Garnett and Allen Celtics team so I can only imagine if he lost to a young Tatum or Lowry and Derozan.

Last it’s an accomplishment to make it to the playoffs and an accomplishment to make it to the finals. Losing in the finals isn’t the goal and doesn’t look great but Losing before the finals would not look good at all
