Hi everyone, I’m Sarthak.

My collection is small—partly because I’m an engineering student on a tight budget, and partly because of the chaotic journey it took to build it. But every single piece here has a story, a rescue mission, or a sacrifice attached to it.

My obsession started in December 2025. I came across a guy selling a non-working HMT Swarna Quartz. He couldn't get it running, so he sold it to me for ₹300 with the original box. It had sat forgotten in his father's closet for 15 years. That watch dragged me straight down the HMT rabbit hole.

Living in Pune, I started hunting local markets. I found a matte green Kohinoor at Juna Bazaar for ₹1800, but the balance staff was totally ruined. It took me a month of searching to find my now-bestie watchmaker uncle—he’s an old-school artisan who charges fairly and taught me so much. Inspired, I learned to disassemble and reassemble Rajats and Kohinoors myself.

For a second, greed took over and I thought about making it a business. But building and selling aftermarket (AM) franken-watches felt dishonest, so I walked away from the commercial side completely.

Then, life hit hard. I took in a rescue cat who developed a severe, hazardous fungal infection. To fund her intensive medical care, I ended up liquidating almost my entire watch collection. Ultimately, due to the health risks in my student space, I had to safely surrender her to an NGO.

That heartbreak changed my entire perspective on this hobby. I realized I don't care about profit, and I don't care about having a massive box of watches. The real thrill for me is the resurrection—giving a beaten-up, scarred timepiece a second life. I even recently had to part with my Seiko 5 just to keep one of these rescues (The rajat) in my rotation, and I have absolutely zero regrets.

Here are the stories behind the survivors:

1. The Tareeq ("The Warhero"): This piece has truly been through hell. I spent two solid hours hand-buffing the case and the crystal. It has its scars, but down to the glass, everything is completely original.
2. The Rajat:This is the pure one. Completely original, and currently waiting on a fresh crystal replacement. I have it riding on a vintage expansion belt I found.
3. The Trisul: This one was built using a completely wrecked Vijay donor watch. The case, dial, and hands are fresh. To be honest, I built this entire watch just to suit the vintage expansion strap—I am an absolute sucker for these old-school bracelets, and it took me forever to find a matching one for my Kajal later on!

I’m not here to sell anything to anyone. I just wanted to share this somewhere with people who might understand. These watches are a bit scarred and imperfect, but they were saved from the scrap heap, they are ticking, and they are loved.

I don't really see myself as a "seller"—I’m a restorer. My real thrill is finding these forgotten, non-working pieces and giving them a second life.

I picked up this Rajat specifically to save that gorgeous pearl sunburst dial. I figured I'd get it running, clean it up, and pass it along, but after a full service, a polish, and finding the perfect vintage expansion belt, the result was just too good.

Being a student, my budget and space are tight—I actually had to let go of a Seiko 5 to make room for this one. But honestly? No regrets. Pulling a watch back from the brink of the scrap heap and seeing it earn a comfortable life again is the real win.

I recently modified my PSP with some plug-ins, and now it’s just crashes in between Games when it comes to save files.

And it doesn’t crash like just the game exists, but the whole system shut down. I’m tired of it as I have to again and again started from zero and most of the new ISO files I added are crashing a lot.
