PS Vita Isn't Ideal for Playing PSP Games

The PS Vita obviously has its strengths, and there are plenty of good reasons to own one. However, if you're thinking about getting a Vita mainly to play PSP games, I definitely don't think it's the best choice.

You know that huge difference between playing a game that was designed for a CRT TV on a modern display? That's almost what it feels like. I don't see many reviews talking about this, but PSP games running on the Vita unfortunately look noticeably worse to me, with much more visible aliasing. The resolution is doubled, but the visual characteristics of the original PSP screen just aren't replicated.

I recently bought a Vita hoping it could replace my PSP-3000, but I was pretty disappointed with the graphical result. Since I'm not particularly interested in the Vita's own game library, it just didn't make sense for me to keep the console.

If you're considering buying a PS Vita primarily to play PSP games, I definitely wouldn't recommend it. I'm curious to hear what others think, but personally, the graphical difference of PSP games running on the Vita bothered me quite a bit.

Why nobody told me Minis are so much fun?!

Forgot it's Sunday and spent 4 hours playing Minis! Damn time well spent! :))

Kinda makes you wonder why "developers" make shovelware in this day and time, when internet and ai is full of resources. Meanwhile we used to get full games in sizes of 15Mb.

My first app for PSP

As the received message says, I made own little PSP app, that allows you to get messages from various devices, such as Android, Web or Windows, Linux.

I wrote a pretty complex messaging platform (not sending plain text, but an old signal called POCSAG.) On Android and web this actually decrypted using the real POCSAG Pager signal, but on PSP this likely won't be possible. I will try my best though.

If you guys want, I will make a video on how I am sending messages to an actual PSP from my phone or from my website, but right now, I hope you like this :)

Any recommendations are welcome. Please ignore the graphical design, I am pretty new to PSP development, so its very early phase.

Random Thought - PSP Mobile Game Ports

I was wondering, the PSP already has a few official mobile game ports that were released on the Minis catalogue, some full 3D ones too (like NOVA and Ducati Challenge). Would it be theoretically possible to port some late 2000s/early 2010s mobile games to the PSP? Namely Asphalt 5 and GT Motor Academy due to Gameloft's asset flips

Or, something like a JAVA/Ngage emulator

Problems after ark4

Hi all, i tried adding ark 4 on my psp 1000 with the 6.60 software on my psp.

Now its stuck in the black screen and have no idea what to do.

Probably softbricked it? Any ideas on how to “unbrick” it

Problems with Crash Bandicoot

I just got it by using pkgi enhanced, game shows up on my xmb normally but when I try to launch it I get this error. How do I fix it? I already checked and it is in the GAME folder and everything is formatted correctly. Help?

I think my Battery or my PSP might be broken.

So I heard before that these batteries are just junk and that I should get an ostent battery instead for my psp 3000. Many say that they don’t last very long, but my issue here is that it doesn’t work at all. It can’t even charge my psp the slightest. So at this point I don’t know if it’s really the awful battery or if it’s possible that my psp might be broken too. It’s just that I don’t wanna waste any money on an ostent if it’s not even gonna work. Help much appreciated!

ARK-5 cannot perform an OTA update.

I'm currently using ARK-4 cIPL on my PSP-3000 and want to update to ARK-5, but the system says I'm already on the latest version and won't let me update. I tried updating manually via GitHub but it didn't work; could you tell me how to perform the update? Is it possible that ARK-4 cIPL is a version that simply cannot be updated?

Psp won't properly start up

​

Won't start unless I remove the memory stick, and then it starts. Same also happens when I exit from a game. It doesn't load into the xmb without it buffering, unless I remove the memory stick.

It doesn't randomly die while I'm in a game though.

I have also replaced the pro stick duo and yet the issue still persists. I'm not sure if this is a hardware issue or a software issue, but, I need help and I'm worried that this will get worse for my psp.
