Happy yet heartbroken.

My only is a toddler approaching 2 and our favourite thing to do is go through my Snapchat memories of the past 20 months. She LOVES watching “baby” cry or babble or splash water everywhere. It’s our favourite thing to do before bed, watch a few videos of baby her.

But once we reach newborn, it goes blank.

I have a gazillion videos from the moment I woke up after my c section but none leading up to her birth. None of my labour, nothing from the moment the contractions started. Just 1 video my husband took before we went into an emergency section.

I feel so heartbroken. Like someone robbed me of this moment. I don’t blame my husband or anyone tbh, he was equally stressed and we weren’t sure what was going on at the time but I’m one and done and I have nothing but my memories. And even then I feel like my brain only remembers what it can. Is it accurate? Who knows…

I want to see and experience it all again, for my only. Not for another kid that I don’t want.

I don’t know why this makes me so emotional but I just wish I had a few more pictures or videos of the most vulnerable moment in our lives.

Has anyone else gone through similar of being OAD and having no videos or pictures of their labour? How do you deal with the emotions and upset? I’m so angry at myself more than anything for not remembering to ask my husband. 😭😭😭😭

The thought makes me want to burst into tears, I’d love to see the day my life changed forever just once! I feel so pathetic lol

What do I say before they start recruiting my only against me??

My husband’s friend recently had their second child and honestly, I hate them for it. It’s seemed to open an unwanted discussion about my desire for another.

I hate that they look at me when asking about another.

I hate that they try to convince me otherwise about OAD.

I hate how it’s all on me despite both my husband and I choosing to be OAD.

I hate the judgement. I hate the opinions. I hate the questions. Please fuck offfff.

I can barely be a good parent to my only because I need sleep, down time and just fucking peace and quiet in my life. Why would I ruin what little me time I have by having more children?

Why am I only worthy of being a parent when I’m sitting here feeling regret?

It’s not just husbands friend. It’s my mother. It’s his mother. It’s random nurses at my daughter’s appointments.

It makes me feel like I’ve failed my child for not providing an unstable environment for her to grow up in. For not slashing financial resources in half to have another.

I know I’m doing right by my family of 3 but do the questions ever get easier? What do I even respond to it all? Has anyone had comments directed to your only such as “ask mummy and daddy for a baby”?

Today it’s directed at me but I’d like to nip this in the bud before people think they can recruit my own child against me.

Disheartened as fuckkkk

4ft10, 83kg, PCOS and a mum to a 1yo.

This motherfucking allodynia is killing me. That’s it. That’s the post.

Not only have I not lost jack shit (I know I know it’s therapeutic at this stage blah blah) but I’m feeling like I want to rip my skin off my arms and legs. I can’t lay down or find comfort in my clothes or god forbid, even breathe near my arms!!!!

The hardest part is struggling to soothe my teething, in pain 1yo. It breaks my heart not being able to cuddle or pat her to sleep. Any contact with affected areas just makes me want to cheese grate my skin off ughhhhh.

I’ve decided to stop with Wegovy altogether. I so badly wanted this to be the one for me as I struggle with weight/hormone related inflammation but wtf. It’s not worth feeling like I have 1st degree burns all over me!

I will keep up the fight to maintain any positive changes I’ve learnt (better nutrition/gym) but alas, this is the end of my Wegovy chapter.

Wishing you all a better journey than me. Signing out. ☹️

This happened over the weekend but it’s still been playing on my mind so any judgement would be great!

Partner and I drove to the local field park on the weekend. Busy, never any parking unless it’s a weekday and just jam packed with people everywhere. Looped around, no parking as typically expected. Bear in mind this is a one way in, one way out road and we’d been looping for 15 minutes on 4 different roads.

As we approach an open parking spot, there is a lady stood near it.

Lady: hi, you can’t park here. My partner is coming back to park here.

Me: you can’t reserve a parking spot by standing there. You are not a traffic cone, move please.

Lady: I’m not moving, my partners coming back around.

Me: why didn’t he park here immediately, why is he coming back around? That’s not my problem and I’d like to park here as there’s no other spots to park.

Lady: I’m not moving, park somewhere else, you’re being rude, why can’t you just move.

Me: you are not the queen of England, this is not reserved for you. Move.

This went on for 5 minutes of back and forth between lady, myself and my partner. At this point traffic was building up behind as I refused to find somewhere else to park.

I then informed the lady that if she does not move from the parking spot, I will also not move the car so she cannot reserve shit for her partner as again, one way in means he cannot get to the spot without us moving along.

Passerbys intervened, some asked us to move, some asked her to move. A man behind shouted at her to move as he’s running late for work.

Eventually, she moved after huffing and puffing. Bumped into lady, her partner and dog in the field park. He started screaming at us for “squaring up to a woman” - lies, multiple people were around to verify. He got fairly aggressive and just wouldn’t stop screaming so much so that others walking past had stopped walking to see what happened.

I’m assuming that they found parking due to seeing them in the field.

Give it to me straight - AITAH for refusing to look for alternate parking?
