Why the storage usage so weird?

I have the iPhone app on iOS 26

when I check my phone settings it says 5,7 Gb are used by the app.

but in the app under "offline data" there are only 700mb of files listed...

only way to get it down is to uninstall and delete all the data...

there must be a Better way?

Remove duplicate contacts?

I come from Android and for some reason 50% of my contacts are duplicates. but when I tap my "card" there is no remove duplicate Button. How can I get rid of them? Manually takes forever with 2000+ contacts

Focus on the messaging experience

telegram likes to introduce new features like the app for the smart watch that nobody would use.

important messaging features like performance in low Bandwidth scenarios are severely lacking compared to competitors. I wish they would focus on the essentials of a messenger and not fancy Gimmicks.
