Help buying external storage

I recently bought mac mini M4 256GB. Soon I realized I need more storage I see people doing internal storage upgrade, external storage, external SSD, dock, etc. So many options out there.

I want recommendations on what would be best use case for me. I mainly do lots of photo editing and occasional video editing.

Please give me your recommendations.

Naptutto - a baby monitor in your browser

Hi! We were at a party when our baby finally konked out in a back room, and one of us ended up stuck on “monitor duty” while everyone else had fun. So I built Naptutto—a web app that turns two phones into a baby monitor, no app store downloads or extra gear needed. Just open it on an old phone by the crib, keep the other with you, and you get live video and audio plus a bunch of other features to keep tabs on your little one. Now both parents can actually enjoy the party.

Its a webapp which requires no app install or hardware. Just two phones can be used as baby monitor.

There are tons of features - 6 digit connection, motion detection, picture in picture, white noise, and many more.

If you get a chance to try it out let me know I would love to hear feedback!

Built a baby monitor app which uses two phones

Hey Folks!

I've been developing a baby monitor web app called naptutto (https://www.naptutto.com) and finally got it to a point where I'm comfortable sharing it.

The idea: I forgot baby monitor once to a hotel and I used facetime to monitor my baby - then came this idea. I just wanted to point my phone at the crib and watch it from my spouse's phone. So that's what this does — open the site on two phones, one becomes the camera, the other the monitor, and they connect peer-to-peer over a 6-digit code.

What it does so far:

  • Phone-to-phone live video
  • Pair with a 6-digit code to start live monitoring
  • Motion detection with a swipe-to-select zone grid (only watch the crib, ignore the rest)
  • Real-time alerts + a connection-lost alarm so you know if the stream drops
  • Push-to-talk back to the camera phone
  • Lens switching (wide/ultrawide) on phones with multiple cameras
  • Session history - each session logged with a timeline of motion events and how long it ran
  • Wake lock so the screen doesn't sleep mid-watch, dark/light themes

No app store, works in the browser.

Would genuinely love if you'd try it out and tell me what breaks / feels off. I only have a couple of devices to test on, so I'm sure there are edge cases (weird Android cameras, network setups, etc.) I haven't hit. Brutal feedback welcome.

Cheers
