Under immense pressure to take student loan in UK
Asalamualaikum,
My family have been very angry and aggressively arguing with me ever since A level result day (since 13th of August). I have a pretty good offer at a pretty good university but I don't want to take the loan because it has interest. My family are calling me an extremist, telling me that there are scholars who have said its permissible to take the student loan in the UK (I don't agree at all but they make it seem like its my word vs a scholar and make me feel dumb). They're constantly mentioning to me religious people ik who took the loan. My family are muslim and pray daily (sunni but not salafi) but in wordly matters like these they get very angry with me and go for the more socially prestigious option normally. They're threatening to kick me out the house if I don't take the student loan. They have not been violent or anything and i don't think they will be, but there's been a lot of verbal abuse. I have tried being patient but sometimes I start talking back when the verbal abuse becomes too much(I know this is bad, I will be more patient inshallah).
What do I do? How do I convince them? There's like 2 days before the university application stuff closes for me and I don't think I'll be able to apply for such a good course next year at a good university (my results were a bit worse than the requirements but I still got an offer, this probably won't work next year though). Really feels hard right now, I haven't cried in years ever since I was a kid but I've been pretty close these few days. My parents did work really hard and I can understand why they're so angry now but I just can't make them understand that this loan has riba.
