I'm looking to donate a bunch of nice clothes and I'll be in town this Saturday.

Other than Goodwill, are there other places in town that takes donations on Saturday?

I posted in another subreddit about a problem I'm having with my jeans. I got a lot of advice so I don't really need more, but some of the answers I've gotten makes me wonder if the cotton itself is a problem?

Long story short, I bought 4 pairs of jeans in February and 3 of them have already developed holes in the materials, not the stitches.

I have an older pair of jeans that get treated exactly the same as the other jeans and is holding up just fine.

Some people have said it's "enshittification" and it could be but the older jeans have a lower cotton percentage than the new ones do. Doesn't a higher cotton percentage mean they should hold up better?

Long story short, I'm just wondering if the cotton itself has gone down in quality.

I bought 4 pairs of jeans in February to wear to work. 3 of them have already become unwearable. They've developed holes, including in the groin area, and the belt loop even broke on one of them.

My job is basically sitting, standing, and walking. There is no reason for my job to wear out my jeans.

I'm trying to think of reasons why and I'm struggling. I have a pair of jeans that are much older, easily a year at least, and they haven't developed holes at all. They all get treated the same.

I try to wear them twice before washing, I hang them to dry, and they aren't too small. Unfortunately, all of my clothes get washed in hot water because my washing machine is broken.

What bothers me the most is the tags say the newer pants have a higher cotton % than the old pants do, so I can't even blame the materials used.

I can't afford to keep buying pants. I hate online shopping, especially returns, but the nearest clothing stores are over an hour away. I don't know what to do.
