I have every Nintendo console from the snes up till the switch 1. I love my snes so much ever since I bought it two months ago, I personally see it as the era when 2D games were at their peak but I’m debating on whether or not to get an NES. I never grew up with the NES, oldest consoles I grew up with were the Genesis and gameboy color, so I don’t have much of a sweet spot for nostalgia for the NES. Super Mario bros and Metroid and Zelda are probably its best heavy hitters but I’m not really interested in those games, I’ve mainly only liked the mega man games from 1-6. I also don’t know which model to go for if I were to even buy one, the toaster style NES seems to be unreliable, the top loader seems to be way pricey with no av output, and the famicom’s controller cords are too short, I’ve been considering the famicom av but i can’t read Japanese. It feels like the NES is a missing piece on my shelf but if I’m gonna buy a console, I’m gonna play with it not just haul it, so yeah I’m indecisive.

Finally got my own snes console with super Mario world for only $90. Been playing for a while on my trinitron and I absolutely love it and never wanna get rid of my snes. The controller is so light and compact, and the eject button idea is so cool it’s not like my n64 or Genesis where you have to pull the game out, and inserting the game is so much easier than the n64 where you have to smack it in to get a visual. Couldn’t have spent $90 any better. Question though, what game should I get next? I was thinking of Mega man X since it’s cheap unlike its sequels or mega man 7 (I really wanted mega man 7…) or maybe castlevania 4 since it would be my first introduction to the series or donkey Kong country even though I already emulated it and played on my Wii but I don’t mind playing it again like super Mario world. Any games recommended that probably don’t exceed $$60? I’d love to start building a collection for it.

My whole life I’ve bought n64 games as loose cartridges because of how expensive cib copies are due to the boxes being made out of sensitive cardboard. That was until I made it to checkout in GameStop of all places and noticed two n64 games cib in the back counter while purchasing Arkham asylum. I asked for it and it was yoshis island and ready to rumble. As soon as I heard about the $30 tag I immediately bought it no hesitation, the employee even looked a bit sad about the transaction too. This is my first ever cib n64 game that costs about 1/3 of the price these go on eBay I am shaking. It didn’t even have the price sticker on yet. In the collection it goes I can’t wait to read the manual and play the game I’m so happy

I bought this game expecting to still have flaws like marvel super heroes did but still be exceptionally awesome like marvel super heroes was in my opinion, it’s one of my favorite games on the system but this games flaws just overcome what it offers for me. The slow frames are more constant than in MSH but what mostly makes me dislike this game is the fact that the background music can completely be absent during gameplay due to limitations and I’m left hearing only impacts and groaning and the cheap opponent ai doesn’t help either. Worst thing is this is the most I’ve spent for a psx game ($70) and even though looks cool in my shelf with the collection, I’m just not satisfied. What I honestly might end up doing is selling it to buy paper Mario 64 since they’re both nearly the same price today and it’s difficult to emulate n64 in general, but I just hate the fact that my only other option to own a physical port is the Sega Saturn port, cause I don’t own the console.

This is an sd card reader with usb A and usb C outputs and was wondering if it could work the same as a usb drive would for the process of modding my ps3? I’ve used a Mac m4 laptop to mod all of my consoles that use sd cards but this is the first one that I encounter that needs a usb drive to mod it, and well the Mac m4 doesn’t support usb a drives only usb c adapters.

I can’t understand jack. It looks and sounds easy but I’m already lost at the first step and the fact that the example images are from windows and not a Mac make me even more lost. Am I cooked
