Thought my cat had a UTI
My cat has been going to the litter box very frequently and barely peeing anything out. It started scaring me so I took him to med vet just to make sure there were no blockages. Sure enough there were not any.
She then tested him for a UTI, which came back negative. She said his bladder looked small and to increase his water intake and get him on UT wet food.
She also told me sometimes cats can have urinary problems due to stressful situations. The only stressful event that’s happened recently was me taking in our street cat more frequently as we are trying to adopt him and introduce them to each other. But I really wouldn’t say it’s been too stressful on him. They seem to get along just fine and the other cat does spend a majority of the time outside.
So quite frankly, I don’t know what’s wrong with my cat, but he still is barely peeing.
I did everything the vet recommended and put him on a urinary tract medication. It’s been about 2 days since the vet visit and he is still barely peeing.
Also want to mention he seems completely normal. There’s been no difference in his personality at all and it doesn’t look like he’s in pain.
Has anyone had a similar experience? Could it be due to the new cat coming into the house?
