I watched some of Landon's stream last night and..

I don't know what I expected but the guy pretty much went mute after awhile. Made me realise very few of the fish are actually going to be entertaining to watch unless they're constantly being prodded by a stick.

Pensions fees and moving my current pension

Hi,

I have a very spotty work history with long gaps where I was self employed and going through some mental health issues. I've been working at my current company for about 1.5 years now and have a pension with Standard Life. I tried using the free tools on Standard Life to consolidate my old pensions but they couldn't find them so I gave up.

Anyway I am concerned about the fees I have with Standard Life. I changed the fund to the Vanguard all world and the total fees are over 1% which feels quite high to me. I am also a bit concerned about how little I have in my pension pot I have as I am now into my early 30's. Currently my employer contributes 8% and I don't sacrifice any salary. The reason I haven't jumped to contributing more is that I am saving money for a house and I feel extra money is better in my LISA or in hand. My current situation is I am living at home but pay £600 rent.

the question is can I open a lower cost SIPP and move my pension to it without fee? Can I have it automatically do this or will I have to manually do so every month or something?

I'm from the UK and if you have a cat it is most commonly an 'outdoor' car and comes and goes as it pleases. I'm always seeing posts about the 'cat distribution system' where Americans are catnapping perfectly healthy looking and friendly moggies who just happen to be out and about! Do Americans not generally let their cats roam free?

I was about 12 or 13 sat watching a late night TV movie with my mum in our living room. The living room went directly out to a veranda separated by big patio door. 4 men appeared at the door making strange hand signals and gesturing to unlock the door. We didn't think this was all that weird at the time because we had guests come and go from an apartment under the villa, and my brother or his friend who was living with us at the time would occasionally have guests over. I stupidly opened the door at which point they barged past me and started to try and restrain my mum. My mum at the time was really into fitness and was using one of those resistance arm and leg contraptions, she's also a bit mental so started fighting with 3 of them. I vividly can remember her bonking them repeatedly on the head as I was frozen just watching it all go down. At the same time the 'main guy' cocked back a silver pistol and I saw the casing fly from the chamber. I was very much into counter strike and WW2 shooters at the time and recognised that oh shit that's an actual gun. The other 3 fighting my mum had kitchen knives. I was then pushed back into the sofa and told to shut up and stay where I was.

I don't specifically remember how we all then ended up in my parents bedroom but they woke up my dad who was a extremely heavy sleeper and snored like a freight train. They grabbed his gold Rolex but were not completely satisfied with just that. My dad then got out of bed (thankfully he had boxers on) and pushed through them to an alarm box we had on our wall. Now this thing.. wasn't connected to anything. It was barely connected to the wall itself. If I remember rightly it might have even been hanging on by a single screw and slanted. He hits the box and says 'Policia'. The guys look at each other like its a comedy sketch and that's the last thing I remember as I ran out of the house to try and alert a neighbour. I wasn't getting anywhere with that as we lived in Spain and everyone (but us) had a FUCK of all and gate around their property and nobody was answering the intercom. I eventually see the 4 guys jump back over our wall and run down the street. I run back inside thinking I am about to see something horrific but everyone is fine. My dad immediately gets in his car to chase them but we never saw them again.

just a quick shoutout to the Spanish police for not taking any of the evidence, bullet, face covering my mum pulled off them with visible spittle on them, things they'd touched etc. They let us know they weren't the FBI and they'd be doing fuck all about it 😄

I actually bought this a couple of years ago and sadly its just been in storage. It's a HUGE 'double royal' (no cheese) sized poster that was taken from a station on the London Underground. It's a little sun damaged and under certain light you can see creases but I thought it was pretty cool. It's a really nice frame too must have cost a pretty penny! I paid £17 for it.

Hi,

I'm going to be viewing a home at the weekend for the first time. the property is definitely interesting but requires a full redocration including doors, lights, floors and walls. The bathroom and kitchen are fairly sad looking too (bathroom especially). The good news is that it seems livable in despite this, just it was previously a commercial property of some kind. As a FTB who has done barely any DIY the works needed are a bit intimidating. The property seems fairly well priced otherwise but it is also a lease hold with a £1000 service charge (no visible communal areas).

Would it be crazy to offer like.. 20k, even 30k less than the asking and see what happens? this is a property without a chain which doesn't look previously lived in. It was maybe part of a nursing home or something.

The thing is I am fairly comfortable renting privately. I actually get an insane rate where I am. The major appeal of this place is its pretty big but with some extremely awkward storage rooms which really need walls taken down to fix (future stuff).

Am i just going to make the estate agent laugh in my face lol?
