colorful/non-traditional wedding dress suggestions?

i'm interested in wearing a color other than white for my wedding, but unsure how to find something that still sets me apart from guests! anyone had success shopping for this either IRL or (ideally) in the greater Boston area? i would describe my style as a bit on the crunchy/boho side, i guess. i'm also open to a two-piece set or jumpsuit, or some white with flowers.

ETA: It doesn't necessarily have to be a "wedding gown" sold in a bridal shop or anything like that.

Elm Bank vs Gore Place vs Pierce House

I know there are notable differences between these (including in price) but we’re planning a traditional Jewish wedding for June or September 2027, and would love to hear your thoughts on these venues!! It would be especially helpful if anyone toured/considered multiple.

We would like an outdoor ceremony and likely prefer a tented reception, but are flexible on reception space. 150-200 guests, flexible budget but ideally ~70-75k. (If anyone went with any of these and is willing to share your budget breakdown, that would also be super helpful. I’m not sure if this budget is doable at Elm Bank.) TIA :)))

71 TSH, free T4 0.8, depression/tearfulness?

When I got my TSH checked ~a month ago, it was 15, so my PCP raised my Levothyroxine dose to 75. I went a few days ago to check again, and it was 71.3!! Has anyone experienced this? I've been very tearful and sad, particularly before my period, although I do take hormonal birth control. I would really like to see an endocrinologist rather than just my primary care doctor, but it's been hard to get an appt. Anyone have similar experiences to share? I definitely panicked when I got my test results back.

Domestic partnership for health insurance?

Hi! Has anyone started a domestic partnership to join your partner's employer-based health insurance plan? How did it impact your taxes? Some people on Reddit seem to say that it's not financially beneficial unless it's a marriage, so I'm trying to understand whether that's true. I'm currently paying ~$440/month for a MA health connector plan. I have a chronic illness so my healthcare costs are high. Thanks!

hi all! i'm considering a role as a part time integrated behavioral health clinician at a pediatrician's office. the other person currently in the position does it part time, and then does part time private practice from home. i would LOVE to do that in the future as well, but i don't have any outpatient therapy experience. my experience is all in schools or hospitals as a medical social worker.

any suggestions for getting into PP in the future? i've applied to many group practices and have been unsuccessful, probably because of my past experience. (i really prefer not to work for a big corporation like BetterHelp etc, but those are a lot of the listings i see posted.) i've also done a few trainings. i'm concerned that even experience in this BH clinician role won't be seen as therapy, and won't help me get into part time PP.

hi! so far i've been (very early stages) looking at Gore Place and Connemara House Farm and would love to know about other similar options.

  • ~150-200 guests
  • *need* to bring in outside caterer
  • Sunday daytime wedding in spring/summer/fall 2027
  • ideally 45 mins or less from Somerville
