Trying to build depth in the semiconductor industry

Would love recos of books and manuals.

WHat are you guys reading these days to build domain expertise?

Looking for a cofounder for building semiconductor supply chain intelligence

I am potentially speaking to two people but I would like to speak to few more before I make my mind about a potential cofounder.

A bit about me-

I have a CS degree, a GSOC internship and an active OneBusAway contributor, around 4 years engineering experience in payments and automating painfully manual processes in traditional manufacturing.

I also have a 7.5 year break where I was figuring out what I should be doing, taking time off for mental health.

But I also have that hustler streak- I have waited tables, taught high school kids, drove uber and worked in a motorcycle garage just to feel whole when I was struggling with mental health.

So yes I am not someone with the most achievements.

Now I honestly want to build something meaningful. The peers who I could have cofounded with have cushy FAANG jobs and I don’t think it is smart to ask them to leave all that when they are doing very well for themselves.

I presently have a job with a decent pay but that’s

not what I figured out during my break.

The idea that I have zeroed down upon comes from one of the RFS on YC and it is particularly interesting because I always wanted to dig deeper in semiconductors that builds from cars to computers.

If you think you want to work with me- DM me. I would give the details of the idea and what exactly my expectations from a cofounder shall be.

Equity to be split equally.

YC cofounder match

What has your experience with YC cofounder match been? I would have an idea if the platform really works. There are lots of highly talented folks on the platform but are they genuinely looking to partner?

Semiconductor engineers: what supply-chain workflow still feels painfully manual?

Hi everyone,

I'm a software engineer spending the next few weeks trying to understand semiconductor supply chains before building anything.

I've been reading about wafer allocation, advanced packaging, HBM shortages, export controls, MES, SAP, etc., but I don't want to build based on articles instead of reality.

I'm curious:

  • What supply-chain or operations workflow is still manual?
  • Where do Excel, email, or phone calls still act as the main method of working?
  • What's the most frustrating recurring process in planning, procurement, manufacturing, or logistics?
  • If you could automate one workflow right now, what would it be?

I'm not looking for anyone to validate an idea—I'm trying to understand the industry before writing code.

Need feedback on a platform

We are building a platform on export incentive recovery and GST recovery. How open are you guys to integrate one more software to your system or is it too much at this point?

What if we handle everything from ICEGATE to DGFT and you give whatever details you give to a CA firm to us/or quickly upload few documents so that we can process the entitlement and file refund across 8 export incentive schemes? We will keep it as less technical as possible.
