Why are the people on the street with Harvey so damn dumb?

Are they paid by producers or coerced to respond with the most ridiculous statements to Harvey's questions? Like why would you want such a stupid moment memorialized forever? The street interviews are almost the cherry on top of a good episode. At this point if the person on the street isnt an idiot, I havent seen the episode yet.

Booker/Promoter asked me to do a gig--proceeds to send a list of 60 songs he wants played IN ORDER, with detailed notes on transition points lmaoooooo

I'm sorry I had to post this here. I hope he doesnt use reddit I swear it's nothing personal to this guy but this is awful and I cant stop cacking about this in my group chat. So a friend asked me if I would be interested in a gig he was turning down and proceeded to send the deets and said he would ask around if someone was interested to work the event. Love that I have friends that pass work to me but this was a complete LUL. Promoter is hilariously delusional like dude literally sent me a microsoft spreadsheet of what I could only describe as a spotify playlist he made with a bunch of songs in no logical theme, key or bmp with various notes on the transition points. Not only does he want a 60+ list of songs specifically played but he wants them in the order he made, with notes on the cue points and he used a bunch of fake dj-jargon and I have been laughing at this shit for the last 11 hours. Take for instance this one nugget:

***********************************************************************************

ARTIST ----- TRACK ----- PLAY WINDOW ----- MIX IN ----- MIX OUT ----- TRANSITION

Beyonce - Partition - hook/bridge - "blend under instrumental" - echo vocal - 16 bars > Rihanna

Rihanna - Sex With Me - chorus - "blend instrumental pocket" - bass cut - 8 bars > Drake

Drake - Nonstop - 1:20 -"hard drop on 1" - quick cut/echo - echo out > Sza

Sza - Shirt - hook - "smooth blend" - filter down - 16 bar blend > Rihanna

************************************************************************************
I swear this is one of the most cringe things I've ever seen in my life. Nevermind Partition is like 90bpm going into Rihanna at 120 and then Drake at 155...no key relevance...no nothing

I think the most egregious thing is the obnoxious notes telling me how to start the transition, using hook/chorus/bridge interchangeably and then telling me how many bars I need to use in order to get to the next song

Like its funny. Its insulting. Its obnoxious. Its delusional. I absolutely had to share this. Like, I want to send other Djs this excel file just to marvel at the amount of time this dude spent working on this...literally just make a playlist I've never had someone try to hire me for a job and proceed to do the job for me. So on track 45 if I high pass filter at the chorus instead of the outro will I not get paid because I didnt follow his chart to a tee? lmao....am i supposed to practice this? Or is he expecting me to read through these notes and react to them in real time? Some notes have specific cue points like "start at 2:03" ....

I've had some experiences but this one really takes the cake.

Found a local market where Avocados are less than a dollar but they arent ripe so I have to buy them in advance when I want guacamole

Theres a large hispanic population here and they have a market where there are avocados for less than a dollar in the year of our lord 2026 can you believe it? but they come in not quite ripe...so I have to buy them days ahead but by the time they're ripe I might not be in the mood for guac but how can you pass up an avocado for 50 cents? Theyre literally cheaper than onions and tomatoes here. smh

Woman wants a price that was quoted to her...by a scam artist.

This peak example of darwinism called to "verify" whether or not she had a confirmation of her order. I always find that type of language amusing because where was this type of diligence when you were sleuthing the net for "cheap [insert product name] online" lol. She goes to some random site, calls some random number, gave them her card info, they in return give her nothing- no order number, no confirmation, no receipt, no nothing...and as they always do call the customer back with some silly story about how they were "misquoted" or the card didnt go through and they need additional funds. Typical of online scam websites. Well, she in return gets cold feet and cancels her card and calls us to "verify" she doesnt have an order. Ok.

Situations like these are always a litmus test for stupidity because you have to juggle multiple concepts with them at once and you see in real time if their brains can handle everything being said:

  1. I verify that she in fact does not have an order, with us

  2. Even if she doesnt have an order, she gave her cc to *someone* and needs to get on top of locking her cards down and learning from this experience

  3. We cant guarantee the legitimacy of a product we may sell, on a website other than our own

She does this weird thing that I've seen people who were scammed do which is when I confirm that they dont have an order with us, or I have no records of a transaction with US...they seem to not believe it. What makes them so trusting of the scammer through a 3rd party and not the actually company itself? So I go down the rabbit hole of telling her...well..."call them back" and "check the name of the biller on your online banking"

I'm thinking that this would be the end of it after I nail those bullet points in her head. I wish her good luck in the future because she obviously needs it, but she decided since she has the "real me" on the line she wants to shop directly through us, ok whatever.

"What!!!??? Why is the price so high here??? I was quoted 300 with the other person."

me-"I believe thats how they get you, by quoting some unbelievable price. But no our product costs (insert amount) "

"Are you sure?"

These types of responses tend to silently trigger me because, if you clearly understood the concept of booking through a 3rd party in order to get the product cheaper, why would you be shocked that the price im quoting you is more expensive...didnt you just get potentially scammed somewhere else?

me-"Yes, I'm sure. The price is x, I can confirm an order for you now, but also we will be here if you want to settle the potential fraud on your account and call us back." (i really want her gone now)

"I was looking earlier and the price was NOT that high."

me- "..."

"Hello?"

me- "yes, im here, is the audio okay?"

I was saying the price was much lower when I looked earlier

me- "I'm sorry maam are you there, the audio has started to bug out all of a sudden"

"I think ill call back. That price is pretty steep dont you think? I dont remember it being that much in the past."

me- "I understand, maam. You have a nice day"

yeah. no

My work laptop that I use to work remote on my patio has a weird aspect ratio so commas look like periods and I keep getting page errors when keying in email addresses on spreadsheets

I keep typing in [emailaddress]@[email]**,**com because on this wonky ass laptop the comma and the period are not only side by side but I fat finger the comma and the screen makes the comma and the period near identical

My feet are also kicked up with a summer breeze blowing in my face but I have to keep leaning up to get really close to the screen.

I practiced and fully rehearsed an interaction between me and my boss for a week in order to get out of a project only for her to meet with me today just to cancel it.

I was tired of feeling like a pushover at work, especially with a boss that is far removed from my daily tasks and I was going to explain to her today that based on the number of years I've been with the company and the number of junior staff that are delegated to those tasks that I didnt feel it was appropriate to have me with over a decade of experience working on projects that new hires take on within the first 6 months just because I can get my tasks completed quickly. Let them figure it out like I did. You cant learn your pace and how to work on a deadline when you can just ask for senior staff to swoop in and divvy up the tasks to make life easier ALL the time.

And I did all that, only for her to meet with me today after "reviewing the logistics my skills are more necessary in other places" so now I dont even get to get that little thing off my chest, but I really just didnt feel like doing such a tedious tasks that a 19 year old intern does.

Man upset with me for being "short" with him but he was just rambling & small talking to waste time because he couldnt remember what he was actually calling for which is a complete waste of my time time.

Wouldn't it just make more sense to keep your pride and immediately hang up or at least apologize and hang up? I dunno "hey sorry to waste your time I forgot what I was going to ask ill call back!" You know...something someone with common sense would do.

Sorry I dont know what you called for lol. I cant help you remember and I cant speak on the operation of your mind. I also dont care that youre frustrated about it because my job isnt to be a therapist to people with poor emotional regulation despite what my metrics might tell you! He started yapping about some sub-par hotel experience from 3 years ago, and then how the website is confusing, and then he started complaining about how long he had to wait to get me I suppose to shift the blame of forgetting to me...I just sat there patiently waiting because none of this had anything to do with the purpose of the call.

me - "we are 24 hours if you need to give us a ring back"

"no I waited too long"

me - "ok"

****huffing and puffing on the other end****

me - "I can arrange a callback for you and place you back in the queue"

"see because last time I stayed at [insert hotel] the front desk girl was awful"

me - ??????

"you dont have to be so short with me youre no help"

me - *audible* ?????

He disconnected the call. Dont care if they pull that one tbh.

Amps/prescriptions are going to need a rework sooner than later

I cant help but think as my relapses have passed the 30s theres a few map specific amps that make trials more interesting but the bulk of the amps are worthless. And the incentive to use tickets the higher you get becomes pretty lackluster

On top of a rework of amps that are pretty weak and unnecessary ie: who would run surplus over boosted etc there should be more to just hoarding tickets to instantly cashout and rebuild your perks list--i was thinking if they added a lot more prescriptions/amps and limited the number of prescriptions that you can load in a specific run it would incentivize different builds and playstyles. So you wouldnt be able to necessarily make a god-tier character but you can make a strong build catered to performing a specific task

Just off the top of the head there can be more interesting things done with amps/prescriptions that give more health on heal, healing over time, move speed, inventory space, team revive, trap negation, information gathering, mini-game countering, ex-pop & prime asset countering, specific trial objective tools etc and then you could see actual builds around tactics such as guarding your teammates, healing, sneaking, speedrunning etc

As it stands why would I or a player with hundreds and hundreds of hours use hide and breathe? Hide and heal? On intensive/psycho??? for what? Why not have those perks also increase the speed in which you enter and exit hiding spots? Adrenaline or stamina boost that activates immediately upon exiting? I mean theres so much they could do.

At the expense of health, or inventory space what if you could make information builds that have fast sneaking speed, more stamina, longer adrenaline activation, or able to run over sound traps without making noise? At the expense of movement speed what if you could make backpack builds that can carry multiple items or carry 2x heavy objects? What if there were items or perks that let you warm yourself to negate cold snap, or cool yourself off from burn or bleed damage? Tank perks that let you take a hit without stumbling or losing balance when enemies vault or open doors in front of you? Quietly open door or break glass? I mean they have the skeleton of a very deep and interesting perk system...I think when you get to around 1000 hours of the game you can see some really glaring weaknesses in the way the current system is designed

Customer upset that she cant manage her booking on the app --shes looking at screenshot of the app in her camera roll. You cant click on a screenshot of the website, ma'am.

It doesnt get any more ridiculous than this. Well I'm sure it does but this is pretty ridiculous. So a woman calls in with the usual ~*deep sign*~ "oh i HOPE you can help" line. Sure ill try...proceeds to moan about how the website is unresponsive and nothing she clicks works. Nothings ever their fault right. I immediately ask if shes using the app or the computer to narrow down the navigation steps and she says "what difference does it make" which was already a red flag. Well lol...since the mobile front and the desktop version are completely different I need to be able to direct you accordingly so I switch gears--"whats happening when you attempt to navigate" she barks again "its not responding" so I ask her to scroll to the bottom of the page, this will tell me if its app or website and I ask her to read whats at the bottom of the page...well this moron tries to scroll to the bottom of the website on a screenshot of the app and goes "it keeps opening another photo"

Maam. You cant click a screenshot of the website you have to go to the website on your browser. Here let me help you ***transfers to technical support***

Jesus the fuck christ
