1yo son needs to be independent

As the title, hes just become one and he needs to do everything himself even if it causes carnage.

Im ok mostly with him eating himself except in public because he makes a massive mess.

But like its got to the point he needs to push his own pushchair, throws a tantrum if he cant. He usually will calm down once hes in the pushchair but not always, he wants to get on things like a baby cycle himself even if he will fall. Etc

Basically how do you encourage independence without it going crazy and being unsafe. If i help him get on the cycle at all he will get angry get off the cycle and restart. Most incan do is hold it steady for him.

Seoul, Busan and Jeju Island with a baby

So we, 26F and 29M, are planning a korea trip with our son who will be 14 months at the time of our trip

We are thinking if staying 2 weeks with one week in seoul and splitting the second week between busan and Jeju (although we are open to changing this)

We are going because my husband has a conference in Seoul. I actually don’t know what I should do in Korea

We do like more intense holidays and making it feel like weve done and seen loads.

We are muslims (if there are any muslim specific recommendations)

My questions are

  1. Are Busan and Jeju good add ons? Or is there some place else that would be better?
  2. What are some things to do in Seoul that we can do with a baby?

Im honestly just struggling to come up with an itinerary. So any help would be amazing, thank you!

Car seats and jeju

I probably shouldnt be using chatgpt for this but Im planning a trio to korea with my son (he will be 14 months at the time of the trip)

I want to do a leg in jeju, but chatgpt is saying ill need a car seat so itll be hard. Is this true? How hard is it to hire one? Or is chatgpt being extra lol?

Women who have successfully got their husbands to move out of their inlaws house, how did you do it?

Like I’m talking about the guys who can afford to move out but just don’t want to because they think life is easier with their parents. They want to save money etc.

Our marriage is struggling and he knows this but he still thinks living at his parents is better for our marriage then living away (he says this because we have a baby and they can help with childcare sometimes)

How do you know if you should leave a marriage?

For the last 2 months I’ve been feeling detached and emotionally broken. Loads of things have happened, arguments and all. It eventually got to the point where he realised i was considering separating. Hes trying to fix up now, hes arranged for muslim marriage counselling which ive agreed to go to.

But i dont know if its too late, i feel emotionless. The reason im staying right now is 1. Because of our kid 2. Ive just got a job i really wanted to do and 3. If i left id have to move far away and give my job up

Im legit staying right now for convenience sake. I do care for him, hes not a bad person but i cant deny the way hes made me feel these last few months.

I just want to know how people knew they had to leave? What made you take the final step?

Husband not respecting boundaries

Im honestly a little pissed off rn, so let me rant and i want peoples advice on how to deal with this.

So husband likes to play fight, we used to in the past and it caused arguments so ive told him to stop. He doesnt really listen and he does it anyway. Ill let it go most of the time, but generally if i hit back its suddenly “you hit me too hard” and he goes off in a strop.

Its happened again, he hit me three times, so i swiped him. Hes now annoyed at me and not speaking properly.

Ive tried to have a convo with him and said to him “ive told you so many times to not hit me”
and hes like “yeah you have but you hit me too hard. Like i get i shouldnt have hit you but you hit me too hard and i told you that but youve not apologised, youve doubled down”

I said i will double down, i refuse to apologise for this. And now idk how to get over this with him because whilst this will go away because neither of us really hold grudges i hate that every time he decides he wants to play fight, he ignores my wishes, and then he gets upset when i retaliate the same way. Idk how to get it to stop.

Hi, I (26F) am currently on mat leave, Ive left my old job (although technically still employed by them until my mat leave is up) and I’m in search for a new job. Id like to put my son in nursery so I can go back to work, however I need a job to get the funded hours but the only way to get the funded hours is by having a job.

Im just a bit lost, how do I navigate this? Has anyone been in a similar situation?

My (26F) son (8months M) is just so active. I try give him a routine, a wind down before bedtime all sorts. And hes there running for it. I try keep calm and keep him calm but if i put him on his back, within an instant hes on his front crawling away, or pulling himself to stand in his cot. Hes also been getting up earlier and earlier everyday, i try put him back to sleep but he refuses, hes now up in the morning at 5am.

I was hoping if anyone else had a really active baby, if they had any advice on how they got their baby to sleep? And how they got their baby to stay asleep? And how to intervene as little as possible when there is a middle of the night wake (my son wakes 5 times plus currently 😭)

Hes on 2 naps a day and i try cut them at 2 hours but generally one is 90 mins and the second is 40 minutes
