Prednisolone made 3yr old eczema worse

My 3 year old has had eczema that’s grown in severity since about age 1. The dermatology prescribed the oral steroids over a period of a month (tapered off) but was clear that the eczema would more than likely come back and the next stage would be immunosuppressants and third stage being dupixent because the NHS makes it difficult to get it unless you progress through those stages. She even said she’d rather give me the dupixent now if it was up to her. Now we have finished the steroids, her eczema has returned with a vengeance and the suppression of the inflammation was so temporary.

Her next appt is in 2 weeks - in the meantime how do I manage this. It’s worse than before. She’s itching constantly. I thought she was itching constantly before but it’s really bad now and it’s bleeding on her face. Nursery is also saying her itching is getting worse and this heatwave does not help at all. Any advice for this wait now until the next stage of management?

Male fertility testing

Hi all,

I am 30 with two children aged 5 and 3

I have PCOS and have recently confirmed ovulation. My question is how many cycles should we TTC before people would consider semen analysis? I know we’ve had two children before and I’m the one with a fertility condition but want to cover all bases

Thanks

What do children do on the weekends?

What do parents do with young children on the weekends? This is just because I wonder what everyone gets up to. We’re in south London with not much family around (all the kids cousins are in north London) and my kids are 5 and 3.

My 5 year old does judo Saturday morning but that’s about all for extra curricular. And some weekends we do plan outings to adventure playgrounds, parks, farms etc but that’s not sustainable for every weekend. Some weekends we just stay indoors and they play but it can be grating as we know what young kids are like indoors and the constant ‘what are we doing today’. So yeah I wonder what the norm is for everyone else?

PDG fall after suspected ovulation

Hi,

This is my first cycle using Mira religiously especially around the fertile window. I thought we’d expect PDG to continue to rise post ovulation, but mine dropped. Is this normal, will it likely rise again? Any advice helpful :)

Hi all

Wanted to get some opinions

My daughter has had eczema since the age of 1 and has been on topical steroids since 1.5. She is now 3. I asked her dermatologist yesterday about DuPixent and she was very forthcoming that she would like to prescribe it. For context my daughters eczema can’t be controlled just with topicals now, she is always itching and wakes at night from it. She is also on 0.4 centile for height and weight so we really need to control this chronic inflammation. She said that per nhs guidelines we need to try a course of oral steroids and if that doesn’t work then things like Ciclosprin simply because the Trust needs to prove her case is severe enough for dupixent which is expensive.

Is this usually the pathway followed or do some get dupixent faster than this. Thanks
