Question about mixing vocals/vocal layers

Hey there! I saw a vocal chain breakdown that consisted of a:

\-main vocal
\-2 backing tracks repeating the main
\-2 adlibs harmonizing

My question is regarding the actual mixing and recording of these additional takes. I know that you’re supposed to do new takes for the backing tracks that repeat the main instead of just copying and pasting them. As for the actual mixing, what kind of eq, compression, etc. should I be using?

Is there a certain way reverb, auto tune, delay etc. is used on these additional vocal tracks that differs from the main vocal? Should I be bus processing them? I know this will be different depending on the vocal but I just wanted to get a general sense of what other people do.

This has always been an area I struggled with. Would appreciate any help!

Digitakt II ($880) and Prophet REV 2 ($2100) for sale [WTS] NYC (delivery/pickup)

Happy to discuss shipping/pickup logistics :)

I love both of these. They’re absolute beasts but I find myself using software synths and native Ableton stuff alot more :(

Strattera makes me less creative and flat

I make music and Strattera has basically killed my creativity. It’s also makes me very socially flat. Has anyone switched to anything that hasn’t had this much of a “flattening” effect on them?

I feel so stuck. I know there’s something better on the other side but I just don’t know when or how it’ll come

I hate my job. My work performance has declined in the year I’ve been here because of how disconnected I feel to the work. I know how lucky I am to work here. Great benefits, name recognition, generous PTO, free lunch and all that fun stuff. But none of its fulfills me. I don’t enjoy going in to work. I don’t connect with the people. I find nothing interesting about the work I’m doing. It’s just a paycheck and that bothers me.

It feels so silly to complain but I would love to do something I enjoy. I don’t know what I love. I have a degree in HR and a masters in it and part of me feels like it was such a waste.

I can’t do this for the rest of my life. I can’t feel like this forever. I want do be happy and my jobs sucks a significant portion of my joy away.

How do I prepare for the next thing when I don’t know what the trajectory is? I don’t know where to aim or what to focus on to improve. It’s such an unsettling feeling. It’s frustrating.

I just got back from PTO and it’s even more frustrating. Just feel so lost.

Been trying to incorporate happier/more peaceful music into my daily life but today’s super bleak and rainy. Do you guys have any albums or song recs that fit the vibe but won’t put me in the dumps?
