N13 Axis v1.0.4 is now available.

This update gives you much more control over the centre of the dial.

Top Center and Bottom Center can now be configured independently. Choose from Body Battery, Training Status, Weather, Today or Weekly Distance, Floors, Intensity, Stress, Respiration, Recovery Time, Step Goal, Pulse Ox, Notifications, VO2 Max, Date, Altitude, or simply select Not Show for a cleaner layout.

Temperature, distance and altitude now automatically follow your watch system settings, so there is no need to configure C/F, KM/MI or M/FT separately.

The settings menu has also been reorganized, with Top Center now appearing before Bottom Center for a more natural setup flow.

v1.0.4 also expands device support to:

Fenix 7 series
Fenix 8 Solar 47 mm
Fenix 8 Solar 51 mm
Enduro 3
Forerunner 70
Forerunner 165 series
Forerunner 170 series
Forerunner 570 series
vívoactive 6

All N13 Axis customization is done directly from the watch. Press and hold Menu, select Watch Faces, select N13 Axis, then under Apply select Customize.

Thank you to everyone who continues to send feedback and suggestions. They directly help improve N13 Axis with every release.

One of my best

I woke up this morning, had my coffee outside, looked at my watch and thought… damn, N13 Axis is sexy.
Sometimes you build something, move on to the next project, and forget how good the original actually looks.
Clean. Classic. Modern. Still one of my favourite watch faces I’ve made.
Would you wear Axis on your Garmin?

N13 Axis just got a bigger device lineup.

Clean analog design, useful data without clutter, and built for people who want to give their Garmin a more traditional analog watch style.

Press and hold supported data fields to jump directly into Garmin. The hands also hide for 3 seconds so the information underneath stays easy to read.

v1.0.1 adds support for:

MIP:
Enduro 3
Fenix 8 Solar 47 mm
Fenix 8 Solar 51 mm

AMOLED:
D2 Mach 1
D2 Mach 2

What actually makes you keep using something on your Garmin?

I have been thinking about this after getting quite a lot of feedback from Garmin users.

One thing I have learned is that what looks good initially is only a small part of whether people actually keep using something.

Reliability, battery impact, usability and good support seem to become much more important after the first few days.

I have also found user feedback surprisingly useful. Sometimes someone simply says, "This doesn't work well for me," and it exposes something that looked perfectly reasonable during development.

That has changed how I approach my own work. I am spending less time trying to create something new and more time fixing problems, improving existing work and listening to the people actually using it.

So I am curious how other Garmin users see this.

What makes you keep using something on your Garmin long term?

Reliability? Battery efficiency? Design? Customization? Regular improvements? Good support when something goes wrong?

Or is there something else that matters much more to you?

A few lessons from building for the Garmin community

What I have learned from building for the Garmin community

Hi all,

One thing I have learned from developing for Garmin is how valuable real user feedback can be.

My professional background is mostly in large software systems and infrastructure, so I naturally spend a lot of time thinking about architecture, caching, background processing, battery impact and reliability.

UI and UX have been a much bigger learning process for me.

Some of the most useful improvements I have made came from people simply saying, "This doesn't work well for me," or pointing out something I completely missed.

I have also learned that support matters almost as much as the software itself. So far, when someone has contacted me with a problem, question or suggestion, I have tried to investigate it properly and reply rather than just collecting feedback and moving on.

That experience has actually changed how I want to work.

Instead of constantly building something new, I am spending more time improving existing work, fixing problems, refining designs and implementing useful feedback.

I am curious how other Garmin users see this.

When you find an app or watch face you like, what makes you keep using it?

Is it stability, battery efficiency, design, customization, support from the developer, regular improvements, or something completely different?

I would be interested to hear what actually matters to people after the initial download.

N13 Clarity

N13 Clarity was built for people who want a watch face that feels calm, sharp and effortless to read.
The layout is clean without looking empty. The large central time gives the watch a strong visual identity, while the surrounding data stays balanced and easy to scan.

It looks smooth and precise on the wrist, with a design that feels far better in real use than these quick photos can show.

The latest update refines the layout, spacing and overall presentation to make the watch face feel more polished across supported Garmin devices.

N13 Clarity supports both AMOLED and MIP displays and keeps all data inside the Garmin environment, with no external accounts or third-party servers.
Support is handled quickly, usually within a few hours.

N13 Apex -- Refined for Clarity and Performance

Version 1.0.2 update - https://apps.garmin.com/apps/51f78bfb-8224-4874-a212-d0254b976d6e

I’ve spent the last three days rebuilding N13 Apex to deliver a much better version.

The first release had layout problems on some devices, including labels and values being cut off. Instead of applying small patches, I refactored the watch face around a new AMOLED and MIP architecture.

The new version includes improved fonts, spacing, field positioning, screen-specific layouts and stricter rules to keep complete values inside the display. I also added Weather, VO2 Max, Floors Descended, Bluetooth status, optional seconds and support for more devices.

The original Apex design is still there, but the codebase, data handling and UI have been heavily reworked for better readability, stability and future development.

The first review was not good, but the feedback was valid and helped expose problems that needed to be fixed properly. Version 1.0.2 is the result of taking that feedback seriously and rebuilding the weak parts instead of ignoring them.

Garmin Outdoor Devices Expected in the Second Half of 2026

I have seen reports suggesting that Garmin is preparing to launch several new Outdoor devices during the second half of 2026.

As a developer, I hope these devices introduce a genuinely new hardware architecture, including a more capable processor and increased memory. Better hardware would give developers more room to build reliable and advanced software for the community.

Garmin does not publish enough technical information for us to know exactly how modern the internal hardware is. However, the current memory limits and performance constraints are obvious when developing Connect IQ applications.

I hope Garmin does not release another expensive device with only minor hardware improvements. The newer software features are placing greater demands on the current generation of high-end devices, and some models have experienced performance and stability problems.
Nothing has been confirmed regarding the hardware, so this is only my expectation as a developer.

I hope Garmin has a real surprise prepared for us.

happy weekend everyone! I have done a few changes to N13 Simple

Refined the user interface with improved spacing, alignment and typography for a cleaner, more polished appearance across all supported displays.

Added new Weather options, including Current Conditions and Wind Speed, with support for km/h, mph and m/s.

Improved field layout and formatting to increase readability for long values while preserving the minimalist design.

Enhanced time rendering with more natural digit spacing for a smoother, more balanced clock display.

Optimised Bluetooth, Battery and weather information to improve clarity and consistency throughout the watch face.

Improved performance by reducing unnecessary background processing, resulting in smoother updates and more efficient resource usage.

Increased data reliability with improved handling of unavailable or unexpected values, ensuring the watch face always displays clean, predictable information.

N13 Simple remains focused on fast readability, minimalism and practical everyday information

Single widget that added so much value to my watch

N13 WristWise is the only app on my watch that I use every single day, and it has made a real difference to how I manage my time.

Search for N13 WristWise in the Connect IQ Store. For anyone with a busy schedule, it can be extremely useful.

I use it for medication reminders, starting and finishing work, and keeping track of my morning exercise. I used to stay two or three hours past the end of my workday simply because I lost track of time. WristWise helped me build a much more structured routine.

At the moment, all alert types are managed directly on the watch. I am also working on adding more settings through Connect IQ.

This widget is one of the projects I am most proud of. I spent months designing, testing and improving the reminder algorithm.

Give it a try. It may completely change how you manage your day.
