Possible wheelchair? I can’t imagine how boots on both legs is even possible

I was just diagnosed with severe bilateral PF after having to go to the ER since I could barely walk at work and was in agony, to the point of nausea and dizziness. It went from a shuffle to barely being able to walk at all. I’m now being referred to podiatry but I’m worried I may need a wheelchair since I cannot walk more than a few steps, and every time I stand from sitting the pain is severe. It feels like the muscle is going to snap.

I know boots are usually done but I have both feet with PF, so I can’t imagine how walking would even be possible. I was considering asking for a wheelchair (to move around work and my home, using a chair at work) and doing physical therapy and a night splint.

Is a degree in animal behavior and care good if I want to work in zoos or aquariums?

I’ve been accepted to university in a four year program, but I want to make sure this major will get me where I’d like to go. Of course I’ll also do volunteer work, internships, etc. But will a degree in this field help? I know technically it’s ethology.

Visible hand tattoos

Is it realistic to pursue this career path if it’s not really feasible to cover my hand tattoos? It’s a heart and some flowers, but the flowers spread from my wrist to my hand. I also have a fantasy sword on my thumb. I used to work in book editing and now am trying to choose a new career. My mom works as a docket clerk at the courthouse and says several people have visible tattoos, but I’d like a second opinion.

You’ll be running the entire front of house, alone, with one week of training. Also, what’s your availability for the next year? Pays $15

I’m… speechless. Running the front desk of a hotel, with no one else on property besides housekeeping, with one week “or less” or training. She asked me to tell her what days I needed off for the next year, as there’s no taking days off whatsoever unless you can find someone to cover.

This is not a management position either. Just regular front desk. $15/hour.

Given the run around?

I’m curious if something similar has happened to anyone else. I went in person to drop off my resume after applying for cashier. GM interviewed me on the spot and said he wanted me as CAL. Said I was their top candidate due to my experience and there’s no way the other people he was interviewing would qualify. To expect to hear back by Tuesday. Told the salary is $50,000 per year. Great.

Tuesday comes around and nothing. I call. Apparently they’re still interviewing people. Ok. DM sends me a text a day later saying they’d like to interview me. I called the store I interviewed at to clarify since I thought I had already been interviewed, and the assistant manager said they weren’t surprised the DM had no idea. They give the phone to someone else who says she is a GM for another store helping with interviews and would like to interview me at her store since she needs help there. I say ok.

Do the interview. Ok so it’s not a CAL position anymore it’s a key holder, and it’s $17/hour, and they have no GM at the location I’m interviewing for (which is apparently a different store than where I’m now interviewing at this point) which she manages since they have no GM there. So she is managing multiple stores. Great, ok, that’s way lower than the other position, but alright. Whatever. So now she says great as long as HR says we can rehire you, you’ve got the job and we’ll absolutely get you started ASAP. I should hear back in a few days. Apparently they’re desperate for key holder and CAL positions since multiple stores have no GM or CALs because several managers quit.

Few days go by. Nothing. I call. She says they’re still interviewing other candidates. What? But you said I basically got the job as long as HR gives me the go. Weird…

Suffice to say I have rescinded my application and will be looking elsewhere. Very disappointed. I feel like I was the backup plan’s backup plan. I don’t know this feels very disorganized to me and inconsistent.

Low pay for entry level

Just something I noticed and was a little disappointed about, and maybe some more experienced users can chime in. I’m currently applying for work, and most clinics seem to pay around $10-$12/hour for things like receptionist, kennel tech, and vet assistant. I’m getting my vet assistant certification and have experience with exotics, so I figured hey maybe exotics would pay more.

Absolutely not. In fact it pays even less than regular vet med. Some regular clinics blessedly offer at least $14-$16, but the only exotic vet in my state offers a strict $12. I get its entry level but still, no one can live on this. I have a roommate and that still wouldn’t be near enough to survive. Zoos and Aquariums require a bachelors and still only pay $15-$16. This is insane.

For context, I’m being considered at two different corporate pet stores for management of the animal care department and the pay is $50,000 per year. This kind of boggles my mind a bit. Wouldn’t medical clinics pay more? Especially since you need way more education.

Idk. What are your thoughts?

Collection Attorneys USA/Legacy/RFG Regional scam

I’m actually really pissed as I type this. A legitimate debt of mine was sold to Collection Attorneys USA. Back around January I got a phone call matching their company (but they claim to be called Legacy) saying they were trying to locate me to serve me paperwork because I defaulted on a debt I clearly never intended to pay and they wanted to get a judgement, and if I didn’t set up a payment plan they would take me to court. Over the past 6 months I have given them nearly $1000 out of panic. These past several months that was one bill I prioritized. They specifically claimed to be a law office. I didn’t know they were Collection Attorneys USA until today.

Now I’m flat broke and filing bankruptcy, and I had to get their information for my attorney. Today one of our payments was due, so they tried to charge my card and it bounced because I have no money (lost my job), and I called to ask for my account number and their address. They refused to give me the address and said they do that for the protection of their clients. No email either. Now this sounds sketchy as fuck. I informed them I was filing for bankruptcy and had no more money left to give them, and they became extremely hostile. When I hung up they tried to charge my card 5 times. My attorney said were definitely lying about being a law office. I feel so duped. That money could have went toward bills. But the phone number does match the company my debt was sold to, so it’s legit, but when I made payments to them it shows up as RFG Regional.

Just a warning I guess. These people are full of crap. Please don’t let them intimidate you. They took advantage of me during a very vulnerable past 6 months of my life. I wasn’t considering bankruptcy until this past week, but even then, that debt could have waited. Bills were more important.

Consulting with attorney tomorrow. Clients demanding refunds I don’t have the money for. I’m going viral on social media and drowning.

Title says it all. I’m trying to contact free legal help in my area now that I had to close my business and have no income coming in. I’m desperate and need this filed as soon as possible before I’m sued, as now I have several people demanding refunds for needing extensions on deadlines I cannot pay. I have remaining projects I originally intended to complete and now, a week after closing, I’ve realized I cannot possibly do work I was paid for a month ago and still have money for bills today. I need a job, any job. DoorDash even. Anything. But I can’t do both that and fulfill my prior contracts. I am so utterly fucked and I am drowning.

I’m going viral on social media with angry clients losing their minds. My mental health is in the gutter. I haven’t slept in over 24 hours.

I guess I’m venting. The business I dedicated 7 years of my life to has been bleeding money for months until it finally collapsed this past week and I had no choice but to close. I feel like I can’t breathe.

Since I was a kid I've always wanted to be an illustrator or concept artist. I was in talented arts classes in high school and my family wanted me to go to SCAD or other equally expensive art universities. But life happened and I had to focus on other things. But I would still like to do character art or illustrated book covers.

Well, now I'm 26 and I still haven't finished my degree. My aunt offered to pay for me to finish school. But then later she changed her mind and said A*I was taking over. She said that at her company, she was impatient with a graphic designer and put what she wanted in an A*I program and it produced good results, and A*I is the future, so she doesn't want to waste money on a degree for me if it's not going to give her a return on investment.

I feel at a loss for words. Both for what she did to the person at her company and now what she is doing to me.

EDIT: More upset about her A*I views and that her opinion that my career choice is pointless after supporting me all my life. She previously wanted me to go to $30,000/year art school
