UK traveller question for when Miami Cruise ends

I am going on a cruise from Miami Port after spending a few nights in Miami, really excited. I have done 15 UK sailings but never a US one! I wanted to know what to do when we disembark. What’s the protocol?

we don’t fly home untill 7pm that night from MIA and I am a bad flyer tbh so don’t want to be roaming around with luggage or sat at the airport.

I’ve seen you can rent hotels for the day, but something mentioned an airport luggage service or would you just take your own luggage off, get a uber to the airport hotel chill there and board?

What do you think? thanks x

Been surprised with a trip to Miami!

I will be coming to Miami from UK for 4 nights and hopping on a cruise (royal carribean) for 4 nights. I have been to Florida twice but not Miami, usually I would do lots of research but we are flying very soon and feel I haven’t got a lot of time to do my usual due diligence!

Staying in Citizen M South Beach … I know it will be hot and will rain don’t worry.. lol

Any things I really need to be aware of that a local may know that I won’t find online?

I have started searching and I have seen about jungle island zoo thing & racoon island as I love wildlife I want to do those activities. I also want to go around the art deco area. I have seen a few food spots, ocean drive for the GTA vibes🤣 The pier I think it was pointe?
I love florida for its beautiful trees beaches water and wildlife we don’t get in UK.

If there’s any must see spots nearby let me know !

I will continue researching 😎

Thank you 🙏

Why can’t I fill anything?

Uk recruiter recruiting office support HR finance etc.

For the last 4 months, I can’t fill anything?
10 years in the game, been consultant of the year 7+ times, but I actually can’t get anything to go my way. Am i just cooked now? The market can’t be this bad where clients just aren’t hiring anyone? The role isn’t even getting filled it’s just rolling on and on.

It doesn’t help that my clients who have good paying jobs mostly have gone internal i’m left with what feels people who are experiencing their first day on earth.

They don’t want to listen. They don’t want to pay more. They don’t want to hire it feels? There’s a problem with EVERYONE they see. EVERY CV they see. Even strong interviews are being declined and feedback is just absent?

Most of the time the jobs are just going on and on not really getting filled.

And if I do get a client interested the candidate isn’t. It is extremely painful.

Because I work in my own lane I have no peer to compare to as my colleagues do a completely different type of recruitment.

I don’t really have an option but to keep going as when it’s good it’s good but what is annoying me is there’s no rhyme or reason behind it all. Have I gotten so pissed off I just now don’t care? I genuinely can’t find any good candidates either.

Can someone in UK recruiting please sense check this…

TLDR: Office support recruitment in UK local area targets seem high. No data provided no where to get leads from no prospects nothing just a phone. Thoughts?

I have been at a newish company for about 4 years. They are a small - medium sized business that focused on a different type of recruitment but I got brought in to focus on new higher margin work. It went well first two years I hit and exceeded target.

Since the markets gone a bit weird, and vacancy rates in uk market are dropping a few things have happened that make me feel like i’m going insane?

Can someone from the market tell me if this is normal, I have no friends in recruiting anymore.

April targets were set:
- Team manager , expected to bill £300k in office support in a local market
- Team members between £160,000 - £250,000 per year in office support in a local market

That in itself isn’t the main problem although, it’s that they won’t invest in any company data. So when someone starts they just get a phone and that’s it and have to make £80k in probation. We’re not talking mega experienced hires here either

For an office desk with no clients, no data, no ways of finding leads etc it seems a bit steep. This is without a specialism btw, i’m talking like bog standard office recruitment

I’ve tried to get zoom info and stuff but won’t do it

Does this seem like just how it is? I remember in previous jobs you’d at least get a data set of 100 companies or something!

Fence aggression - when to confront my neighbours about their dog

Hi All,

My dog is dog reactive but he’s also actually alright with some dogs. It’s mostly dogs who bound up to him at the park. He sees dogs on walks and doesn’t care and has been day care etc he’s not “aggressive” he’s a 14kg shiba inu

So basically the neighbours have a small dog that genuinely barks and attacks the fence everytime we step in the garden. 60% of the time my dog just ignores it but sometimes the dog is so aggressive against the fence my dog is getting very very upset about it and defensive and correcting him to tell him to go away.

He’s just recovered my total hip replacement in week 8 and i can’t let him outside as if the dog does irritate him he might chase him along the fence so it’s causing us a lot of issues.

the dog is left outside by them all hours of the day and night they don’t care about it it all. It’s an unfulfilled dog that has no walks and no stimulation. A local trainer told me she couldn’t even train the dog because the owners do not care

I am scared if i speak to them they will take it badly or retaliate as we had a bad situation previously when they crashed into my car. Has anyone got similar advice? am i being unfair to this person?

How to get data if you are starting again what would you do?

I used to be in a small agency where we all did the same thing and we just grew geographically. Everyone had info and leads and we picked them up and won them. We also did anything so we just had data of lots of companies and filled random roles.

I’m struggling in generalist now and selling it under a non specialised agency we just aren’t getting in the door anymore. So i’m going to re market it as financial services, professional services, finance and HR agency as that’s what most of my team do rather than “we do whatever”

I want to give people verticals but the wider agency has never given us any data nothing. We are all new. We only have bullhorn and a phone.

How do other agency’s get information and prospects to call? I have been doing it manually and oh my god it’s mind numbing.

going to target team on talent polling and getting leads etc too.

16th cruise but first out of USA! Need tips/advice

hello 😃

I have been on 15th European cruises (am a brit 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 ) with Royal Carribean. We are Diamond level crown & anchor. Been on Anthem & Independence.

today my partner surprised me with a 30th birthday trip to Miami and then a 4 night Nassau/Perfect Day trip which is AMAZING. On the wonder of the seas!

I anticipate a US sailing having some differences and any differences you have spotted would be great to know in advance.

Some questions I had:
I want to do the royal carribean 2 hour express pigs excursion, has anyone done this and can give any insight into how it was?

I keep seeing people say they don’t get off in Nassau which is insane to me as Bahamas is unlike anything in our neck of the woods in the UK. Could I do the pigs 9am -11am then have time to go to atlantis or what would you recommend?

Wifi - Can you buy one package and share between two devices i.e log in, log out, log in, log out throughout the 24 hours, aka so people can share it?

General cruise stuff I feel fine with but if you have done both and noticed any differences or things to watch out for i’d appreciate it.

Support on pitching a rebrand / strategy

Hey guys

I have posted in here a few times. I’m a TL at a semi large UK based generalist agency. 80% of their business comes from social work and government, and then they built 20% for my team which is basically generalist private sector.

Until now, we have done a bit of everything but never really done anything fantastically. Now the market is really bad we’re suffering.

We can’t get into new clients as when you go on our website no one knows what we do; we can’t really pitch what we do apart from great candidates but when doing MPC pitches even when I KNOW they’re great we are getting no where. We get no warm leads, no database leads nothing. We have actually had to drive around and write businesses down to call and there’s only 3 of us doing cold calling for a huge geographical patch it feels like we are ambulance chasing.

I have got some ideas:
- Branching off as a offshoot of the company’s current website and name to differentiate
- Get a new website that showcases different testimonials and
- Focus on specialising in our region of the country, and then niching down to a few things. We can’t niche too far as those agencies are closing in my area.
- Going back out to market with a clear message that we are a local agency who specialise in the local market and know the local market in the following areas: Finance, HR, Financial & Professional Services, Logistics and Office Support. We can then tailor this to each client.

We are a team of 3. As the team grows, add more specialisms.

Any advice on this, Good idea bad idea?

Need some peer advice from someone in my market….

Am I just getting bad or is my system broken?

I lurk a few of these reddits around rec consultancy and I don’t see anyone who does what I do, so when I see people billing $1m in niche markets it’s amazing but it’s not comparable to me personally - so wondering if anyone can give me some advice or insight.

Context: I recruit in UK, tbh atm will recruit everything. I’ve always been a generalist recruiter but tbh I can fill anything I have done it ten years. I fill HR roles, I fill senior finance, I fill engineering roles etc.

Issue: The business I work for gives us job boards, LI recruiter and bullhorn. That’s it. We have no data for BD, no way of getting phone numbers. I don’t even know what we don’t know if that makes sense.

Other issue: Finding agencies are very niching down and i’m finding it hard to get in as they have “speciality” agencies who are exclusive contracts.

I am just finding in general that without the BD info, I am just taking ages getting data, ages finding leads, I am trying to MPC and I get little reply even though I know they’re good. I’m working in my geographical area at the moment because i have no data to even consider expanding elsewhere. Who do you call when you can literally call anyone?

I spent 7 years in a previous agency , very small only 10 people, billed £500k a year in office support. 2024 did £250k 2025 did £250k and now in FY26 I am finding it more challenging.

What are you seeing in this market?
What could I do differently?

I used to find it easy to warm up prospects but people are so so closed off right now I am finding getting any responses hard especially if they have a job ad up as everyone’s contacting them.

I would love to hear if anyone is in my market and what they are finding is happening. Am I just getting bad? lol?

Anyone experienced in pet treats? Uk ideally

Hey everyone!

I am working on a natural pet treat business. It offers natural pet treat boxes, and also dog supplement powders. I am mixing fruit and veg powders together to make blends basically. No medicinal claims etc but as i am putting it together in new packing I am technically “manufacturing pet food” and it’s now gotten REALLY complex.

Chatgpt is airing on the side of compliance 10000% but no pet treat business online I see does what it’s saying.

I plan to:
Have a menu card in the box with what’s been ordered, it’s breakdown i.e protein fat whatever - that covers my labelling

Register with the council trading standards

Probably get some business insurance although no one seems to want to insure me for some reason , do i need like a pet specialist?

If I do the powders realistically what do i need to do? what would you say is the absolute must haves?

Just want a better quality of life back

Please someone help! I will make it brief so it’s easier to help

- Key struggles: Fatigue, water retention/bad lympathic drainage ..everywhere is puffy, lack of motivation, general feeling of unfitness and sadness
- everything aches, bones aches muscles ache feel like a sack of spuds
- I weigh in healthy range
- Diagnosed ADHD , Autism and anxiety. Have had issues with OCD thoughts and panic before.
- Fall asleep within seconds but no matter how long I sleep I will struggle to awaken. Likely a adhd thing , been cleared of medical issues
- Try to lift weights twice a week, more if i can lol i want the motivation and energy to be able to actually get off the sofa
- Had issues with hormonal balance before, affected my skin hair and nails (I am female)

I know supplements can’t cure all of these issues but I want a robust supplement schedule to just give me a better chance of finding this stuff easier. My adhd kicks my butt everyday and with these other things it just makes it so much harder to do what I need to do. I want to wake up refreshed, I want to look alive and awake lol

Help if you can❤️
