Teaching myself TIG

So I've been learning to weld at work for the past several months. I've gotten really good and confident with 6010, 6011, 6013, and 7018 stick welding. 99.99% of the work related welding we do is stick, mild steel and very rarely we do some stainless. We have a small Hobart handler gas MIG in the corner that works well, but in 5 years I've only used it for about 10 minutes. I'm pretty sure I was the first one to turn it on in several years, as most of the guys thought it was broken. My trainer and our manager basically give me unlimited time and scrap materials to practice with (I've made some pretty cool shit since I started) and I want to slowly expand my skill set. Our smaller repair shop welder is capable of stick and TIG welding and I'd like to try TIG. The problem is my company has no use for it at this time so they won't provide the materials necessary, which is totally understandable.

My question for the experts out there is, how much do you estimate I'll have to come out of pocket to set this particular machine up for tig welding, and what brands and products would you recommend that will work well for a beginner and won't bankrupt me?

Thanks y'all.

Brake lights went out

2000 Chevy Suburban LS 4x4. 250K miles. Brake lights went out today on the way home. I've checked all the fuses for the brake lights and they're all fine. I replaced the brake light switch on the brake pedal a few weeks ago and its been working fine. Any ideas where I should start looking? All the lights in the rear are working (third brake light is working also). The rear running lights are working (same bulb as the brake lights), but when I hit the brakes Ive got nothing. Any ideas where to start ?

Edit: I've also recently replaced my multifunction switch on the steering column and its been working fine as well.

My company is updating alot of our equipment and we're getting a new welder for our river maintenance section. They're having a silent auction within the company for all the old stuff we're updating. I really want this welder. It works great, and other than being old and filthy there is nothing wrong with it. I use it several times a week for a few years now and it's never had any problems whatsoever. The only "problem" with it, is it's wired for 480v right now and it's got a goofy plug end on it. That's not a huge issue by any means, I can change those out when I get it home. My question is, what would you seasoned welders bid for this monster?

Edit: since everyone keeps asking, YES I already have 3 phase capability at home.

Edit #2: I turned in my bid. $75 hard earned American dollars. I'll let y'all know how it goes.

Edit #3: My bid was accepted. I'm the proud new owner of this monstrous welder. I gave my boss the $75 dollars and he gave me $35 of it back because he doesn't know how I'm gonna get it home lol. Also, some of y'all's reading comprehension skills are really worrying. Stop breathing in the fumes and get a library card.

Has anyone pulled the tape deck out of this slot and replaced it with something else?

I got rid of the stock 15" wheels and swapped for some 17" Chevy wheels. I wanna upgrade my brakes now. What's the most economical way of doing it? Is there a kit I can buy or do I need to search out several separate components? Burb is a 2000 1500 LS with 4x4 and super duper clean inside and out

Thanks everyone!
