HCMC hotel recommendations

Due to spend 5 nights in HCMC mid November!

I usually stay at La Vela Saigon which I absolutely love (combination of the pool, room sizes and facilities available)
However it’s obviously in district 3 which is abit out of the centre and not really within walking distance of much.

Any recs for similar accomodation in district 1? Will be travelling with my boyfriend whose never been before so want somewhere that will suit a couple within district one with similar facilities to that of La vela Saigon.

I see most pools are unfortunately quite small with minimal lounges etc.

Thanks!

Birthday dinner in Hanoi recs

Hi everyone! Going to Vietnam in November and looking for a special restaurant in Hanoi to celebrate!

Would prefer something on the fancier/ higher end side (money isn’t an issue as it’s a big one).

Doesn’t have to be Vietnamese at all as we are travelling from north to south and will get to experience Vietnamese cuisine every other night!

My partner and I basically eat EVERYTHING but our favourite is steak (before anyone says anything I’ve had some great steaks in other parts of Vietnam), seafood and we also love Japanese. Open to anything.

Any recommendations for live music/ a boogie after dinner is appreciated too.

Thanks!

Fuji film lens 13-33mm or 35mm (specifics in text body)

Hey everyone

Looking for some advice here regarding lenses.
I am looking to purchase a fujifilm xt30iii and there are two options for kit lenses being the XC 13-33mm OR the 35mm XC f2

Now it’s been some time since I used a camera, I loved photography in school and was attached to my canon DSLR for a good few years, however it seems I’ve dumped most of my knowledge out of my brain so need some advice on a lens.

Afew points to help me in the right direction:
\-it’ll be used heavily for travel (3-4 over seas trips a year) with some use at home
\-mainly will be shooting the usual travel stuff, street photography, landscapes etc maybe some photos of family
\-i probably won’t take the camera out at night time, but would be shooting some over cast days (I travel to Scotland a lot to see family)

Will just be starting off with one lens to learn

Thanks in advance

Qf71 Perth to Singapore changes?

Anyone know what’s going on with qf71? And qf72.

I booked international flights about December last year. The plane was an a330-200, and I selected seats 4a and 4k.
Ive since logged into my booking to double check, and now it appears the seat map for q71 has Disapearred and gives me the selection of an aisle or window. Qf72 shows a map and it’s definitely a narrow body plane.
Booking still says it’s on an a330.
Does anyone know what’s happening with these routes? I specifically booked this flight because it was a wide body.

Thanks in advance!

Evening!

I am travelling from Australia to Scotland in August (yes busy I know) to September this year.

I am looking for local recommendations for cafes and restaurants, mainly breakfast and dinner locations.

I will be staying with family on the west coast however will have a car and stay the odd night in Edinburgh and Glasgow. I’m willing to travel.

Budget isn’t an issue, I’m mainly looking for great breakfast spots with great coffee, steak and pub food, and curry’s.

Any local gem recommendations outside of these parameters would be great too.

TIA
