But I want to make sure everyone is aware of the new campaign to fight mass surveillance in our city!
Please come out to the community meeting on Sept. 14 at 5:30 PM, to hear experts discuss how automatic license plate readers (ALPRs) have infiltrated our city and what we can do about it.
🐦⬛ DeFlock Community Meeting 🐦⬛
We demand ALX end all contracts with Flock and other automatic license plate reader companies!
Join DeFlock Alexandria as we launch our campaign against the expanding mass surveillance in our city.
The community meeting will feature mass surveillance expert Dr. Steven Keener. Dr. Keener is a leading researcher on Automatic License Plate Readers (ALPRs), board member at the Justice Forward Virginia Foundation, assistant professor of criminology at CNU in VA, and director of the Center for Crime, Equity, and Justice Research and Policy.
ALPRs are high-speed, AI-enabled cameras used to identify drivers and pinpoint their location. This digital dragnet captures license plate data and other images of every traveler. ALPRs feed billions of scans into centralized databases. These systems provide tremendous power to track our movements by the government agencies and private tech companies that use and abuse them.
Come and learn about what we can do together, as a community, to push back against these invasive technologies

Hello! I am making an engagement cake for a friend and want to add candied raspberries to the top. I’m definitely going to buy this cookbook but was wondering if someone could share the page about candying raspberries on page 43 today?
Thank you!
Over the past week, ICE has abducted six community members who were working, getting lunch, or driving. Six people who will go through a vague court system and end up in the notoriously brutal Farmville detention center where they will be held indefinitely before deportation.
Follow the ICE Out of Alexandria account to keep up with ICE activity in our city, including Sheriff Casey’s continued collaboration with ICE, and learn how you can resist with us.
A lot of Alexandria‘s don’t know that this is consistently going on here and based on the looks of it, we are seeing ICE sweeps across Northern Virginia again.

hi all! I am a dummy and never ended up buying this lucy tee i really want. I think about this shirt once a week and how I wish I had bought it.
It is no longer on her website and the ones I can find online are knock offs and they’re not the right kind of shirt (not cropped etc). eBay doesn’t seem to have this shirt.
Does anyone have one of these in a large or extra large they are willing to part with or have any suggestions for where I’m not looking?
ty!! 💙
