41 M. I ran my first half in April at about 1:36. I was shooting for 7:30/mile so was pleasantly surprised to come in at 7:20 instead. This was off a Hal Higdon plan doing 80-115 miles month. I decided to shoot for sub 1:30 for my next half, and the race is now approaching in middle October.
I didn’t have any clue how to approach training for this so hired a local running coach to make a plan for me. I got sick at the end of June/beginning of July which cost me a solid 2 weeks of training. Attached pic shows mileage (since I got a Garmin last November).
My long run yesterday had me do 2 warm up miles, then 8 miles at 6:55-7:00. I ended up averaging 6:54 over the 8 miles but it was HARD. Like I was dying at the end.
With just under 9 weeks to go I’m starting to doubt if I can hit this self imposed goal. Is 9 weeks enough time to close the gap from where I am, to where I want to be? I’d rather start mentally preparing for an easier goal now if I don’t have a snowball’s chance of going under 1:30. Thanks!
I think our current speaker setup (which sounds totally fine) looks a little goofy with the tiny speakers on big stands.
I love the way JBL L100s look but I’m not about to spend $5k on a pair of speakers. Looking for advice/suggestions for speakers that have a similar appearance/size but don’t cost 2 arms and 1 leg. Thanks.
