My wife got this lamp from an estate sale auction, and Sandy ended up staring at it like this for two hours.
i love him so much
This is Dennis (the menace). He’s sweet and affectionate but also a bad boy!
Adopted these little dudes about 3 weeks ago, when SIL(that bottle feed them from birth, they are now 3) asked if we would after they've been overwhelmed with new parenthood and several elder dogs, and a grumpy turtle... these 2 are stage 5 clingers and needed more attention than they could provide. We had just lost our 16 year old girl in December and we thought her brother has seemed very lonely since and are hoping these 2 will adopt him into their gang eventually (things are going fairly well, a few hisses, but definite interest on both side, very hopeful 🤞) so of course we happily agreed!
We are going out overnight this weekend 🥳... i've got a friend stopping in to check and feed them, but kind of scared of what we might come home too after 24+hrs away... Hopefully these 2 don't take after their namesakes 😬... We might come home with a phone booth in our basement and a house full of historical figures and empty cabinets.... 🤣😂😂
Wish us luck! 🍀 (Ted in the chunky tux boy, Bill is lighter in both weight and color.)❤️🐱🐱❤️
Jimmy was the first kitten we'd adopted in over 20 years. He arrived to us about 2 months old, accidentally really -- we went to our local cat rescue to drop off some supplies and decided to visit the kitten room, and there he was: tiny orange baby playing with a ball that was twice his size, just batting it around the room, oblivious to anything else. I scooped him up and plopped him tummy-up on my legs, and he just laid there and closed his eyes and went to sleep as I rubbed his fat kitten belly. My wife and I looked at each other and knew this was the one -- 15+ years of coming to this place and playing with probably hundreds of kittens, this feeling never hit us. We were unsure of the timing, since our 19-year-old cat Earl had been sick for a long time and caring for him was a full-time, emotionally-draining job (he passed a week after we brought Jimmy home). But Jimmy proved to be that ray of sunshine we needed after getting hit with so much darkness in the years prior.
Then 2 months later he was fighting for his life with FIP. It was expensive and touch-and-go, but he beat the crap outta that horrible disease, and now one year in, he's a healthy, happy, confident, insanely loving orangie boy. Some folks think they only have one brain cell, but this guy is just so damn smart and clever. He does something every day that makes us laugh, and I'm so glad we visited the cat rescue that particular day (another weekend and he would've been someone else's guy, he was just that cute). He's also the absolute king of lounging.
And yeah, the mangled blind in the "now" cat tree photo is his handiwork from said cat tree. We had just bought them the week before, and someday we'll get around to replacing it.
This handsome boy was dumped on our property several years ago. We've had him TNRd with the help of a local cat group. He is a silly, adorable, loyal boy, and still enjoys some goofy playtime.
His name was Chester but his owner passed away. We took him in. Now he’s Chester the Cheetoh. We shortened it to Cheetoh!
so tired! busy day of playing with a bell and hissing at the new cat
dw, its only day two of having a new cat, and i had them eat some treats on either side of the door. also sprinkled some catnip on either side, and she loved that. she’ll come around, but for now theres a new edition in her home and she is bewildered!
