G6 hasn’t even been released yet, and people are already bashing it for not featuring the ponies they grew up with. You can barely mention another generation of My Little Pony without someone immediately comparing it to G4, and now there are people insisting that G6 should be a continuation of Friendship Is Magic.

I genuinely don’t understand why every new generation has to be measured against G4. It’s okay if G6 isn’t a continuation of G4. It’s okay if it has an entirely new cast, setting, art style, and storyline. That’s what a new generation is supposed to be.
And honestly, I’ll betcha my left horseshoe that some of these same people demanding that G6 continue G4 are the same people who complain that Hasbro is “milking G4 for money.” Because you can’t have it both ways. You can’t demand that Hasbro keep bringing back the same characters and continuing the same story, and then turn around and complain that they won’t let G4 go.

G6 HASN’T EVEN BEEN RELEASED YET, Y’ALL.

Give it a chance to actually exist before deciding it’s terrible because it isn’t G4. We don’t even know what it’s gonna be about.

G4 is over. You can love Friendship Is Magic without expecting every future generation to recreate it. Let G6 tell its own story instead of trying to squeeze every last drop out of G4 until it’s drier than the Saddle Arabia Desert.

Gosh this fandom is exhausting. We can’t even have a new generation without Discord sowing chaos. It’s like Friendship is Magic hasn’t taught you anything.

After 124 days as a moderator here, I’ve decided that it’s time for me to step down.

When I first became a mod, I was happy to help maintain the community and keep things running. But over time, I’ve found moderating here becoming increasingly mentally draining. The negativity in modmail, the constant stream of increasingly hostile posts, and the general direction the community has taken have gradually worn me down.

I understand that this is a hate subreddit. That is literally the point of the community. The expectation was always that the things being hated on would primarily be fictional characters, media, tropes, etc. But over time, it felt like the scope of what people were willing to hate expanded into practically anything and everything. The people who made this happen were people who did not follow even the basics of rules. Like number one: no bullying. Or the no hate speech rule.

Eventually, moderating stopped feeling like something I enjoyed and started feeling like another source of stress.

I don’t blame every member of the community for that, and I’m not saying nobody here is funny or that there haven’t been good moments (which there definitely have been some funny moments) But after spending months seeing the worst parts of the community through both posts and modmail, I reached a point where I simply didn’t have the energy for it anymore due to all the negativity through both posts and modmail.

So I’m stepping away.

There isn’t some dramatic final incident behind this decision. I’m just tired and mentally drained.

my time here worthwhile, whether that was through genuinely funny posts, interesting discussions, or just being decent people to interact with. I appreciate those experiences.

I still might pop in from time to time on the subreddit and say hi with a funny roleplay post, but for now, I bid you all adieu.

It’s just so darn funny how they switch from 2D to 3D with Alfea and the specialists’ ships. It’s so weird. It always made me laugh because of how ridiculous the contrast was.

I got paranoid about the shiny sound. I’d always hear it whenever I used the fast button on my ride mons and there was never any shiny but just my annoyance that I heard it. XD anybody else have this issue?

I’m exhausted by how dramatic people are being about G4 and G6. They’re putting it on a pedestal and are absolutely bonkers about it being ‘replaced’. It’s ok to have new ponies. It’s okay to let things go. I loved G4 like everyone else but it had its run. I know a lot of you all had fond childhood memories of the show but you gotta let it go. Recycling something over and over again will not fill that same magical spark G4 gave you as kids. G4 is the Diamond and Pearl of MLP. The fanfav. The baby that you just won’t let grow up. But there are other possibilities out there if you just give them a chance.

Sorry for my rant. But I had to get this out of my system.
