i’ve had some of the worst luck with implants, feel free to ask away

hi guys! i’ve been up on this subreddit for a while responding to some posts, but i thought it may be more helpful if i put out this prompt.

i’ve had some of the worst luck with implants, and almost every problem that could have happened with an implant has happened to me. if you have any anxiety about an upcoming placement or questions, im here to answer based on my experience to the best of my ability! (i don’t know if this type of post is technically allowed in this subreddit, but i thought i’d try!)

conscious during my surgery with general anesthesia

i wanted to share something that happened recently. i had a surgery to correct a genetic disorder a few days ago. this would be my 7th “corrective” surgery over the past 15 years. i’m 21F, and have no outstanding health issues and have had no issues with general anesthesia with my previous surgeries. i was given an antianxiety medication through my IV before i was put under general anesthesia. when i was going under, instead of feeling sleepy and having that fun “time skip” to waking up, i instead entered this weird dream-like state and was semi conscious during the entire procedure. i could hear my doctors and nurses conversations, i could see everything in front of me but it was blurry and distorted, i could hear the drills and tools, and the worst part was that I could feel all the pain. I could feel my doctor drilling the screw in my jaw, i could feel him sewing the stitches. everything. i tried to scream for them to stop as i was in excruciating pain, but nothing happened. it was the scariest thing i have ever experienced. i was so scared that i urinated on myself during the procedure. when i regained my ability to speak and my vision was less blurry and dream-like, i asked my nurse who was in the room during the operation if i had screamed stop to which she said no. i told my nurse that i could feel, see, and hear everything that was going on. what she said was stuff basically along the lines of that im still pretty “loopy” and i could be misremembering, though if i “actually did experience that” that it could just be my pre-op anxiety causing the anesthetic to be less effective. i was in so much pain after “waking up” that i begged my nurses to give me pain meds, which they were hesitant to do since i shouldnt have been in that much pain so soon after “regaining consciousness”. nobody believed me when i said i was awake and could feel everything. not my mother, not my partner, not the doctors or medical staff. i feel extremely dismissed and the memory of it still makes me cry.

weirdest case of endometriosis ever?

when i was 12 i got my period, it was never regular for 5 years. always skipped for 5-8 months, then would get extremely heavy bleeding. i’m talking bleeding thru large night time pads in 2 hours heavy. thought it was totally normal. never experienced any constant painful and extreme cramping. BUT! i would have about 4 or 5 debilitating, excruciatingly painful cramps once every year that would often temporarily disable me, cause me to pass out, throw up, all the good stuff. started taking birth control at 17 to regulate my cycle. all was well for 4 years until i got what i thought was a yeast infection 3 weeks ago. had some weird colored discharge that went away after a day. yippee. then i started bleeding uncontrollably. never experienced that before. i’ve been bleeding for 2 weeks straight. started panicking maybe i have cancer or im pregnant or i have an std. my friend brought up the possibility of endometriosis. never thought i could have it because i never experienced regular painful cramps. now that im thinking about it, i have all the uncommon symptoms of endometriosis. neurological and respiratory issues, body aches, itching, irregular periods, heavy bleeding during periods, etc. can anyone with endometriosis relate to my issues? could endometriosis be a real possibility?

forgot a pill, got finished in, now i’m bleeding..

i’ve been taking the hormonal pill for 4 years now, and i accidentally forgot to take one this past monday. my boyfriend finished in me that night (i totally forgot i hadn’t taken the pill) and ive started to notice some light spotting throughout the week. i got my “period” (sugar pill week) 2 weeks ago, so it should not be starting any time soon. i also had a big rush of blood last night. i had a yeast infection last week that cleared so i don’t know if that could be related to it. is the bleeding related to implantation bleeding and i’m pregnant since i should not be having a period. is it too early to take a test if conception may have only been 6 days ago? im panicking—- i’ve never experienced this before in my 4 years of taking the pill.

bleeding during sex???

I’ve been on birth control (pill) for about 5 years now. i recently had a mild yeast infection that cleared up within a week or so. recently, i’ve been having small amounts of bleeding during sex with no pain that lasts for a few hours afterwards. i accidentally missed a pill on the day my boyfriend finished in me, which was about 5 days ago. has anyone also experienced this?
