When Auba said "Not Today"!!!

Explanation:

https://www.reddit.com/r/eFootballgame/comments/1whimhm/a_match_that_elevated_my_mood_although_i_didnt/

So i get matched with this guy, who i played before and is good. Div 1, 2500 rank.

3309 rated team. He replaces Maddison with CR7 and puts in Zlatan in his starting line-up.

All he's doing all game is running around, boxing me in, trying to contain me with his overload, barging and charging and getting physical.
I try playing my own game, meduim pace, building up plays, trying my best to handle him and create something for me.

He gets one shot on target up to the the 80th minute, while i have 8 shots - 5 on target until 80th minute.

He subs Adriano for Zlatan and Ronaldinho for CR7 in the 80th minute.
Minute 90 his Adriano barges and charges a contested ball with my CB, ball fumbles and Adriano shoots weak and low and he scores. 2 shots - 2 on target - 1 goal - the entire game.

At this point, am sad; not frustrated or angry, but just sad and wondering why this is typical conami rewarding players who play like that charge and barge style and let them get away with numerous fouling.

Minute 92, i have the ball, start a quick sequence in middle of the pitch, 2 one touch passes, then Cryuff takes the ball, cracks Cafu's pelvis after twisting him inside out, sends a medium cross to Auba, who is marked my Stam..... and Auba flies and fires.
Flying scissors kick was his way of saying 'Not today'!

It felt good, I felt good.

After the game the guy provokes me thru msging and all I do is send him 2 msgs, the 1st is the match stats screenshot.... and the 2nd is the video of Auba's goal :)

He actually reports me to PS, who actually gimme a 48 hr communication ban for 'bla bla bla uploading inappropriate content" LMAO
Game screenshots and a vid are inappropriate :)
But it was worth it...i dont care.

We sure need more Poachers

These are actually all the GPs in the game that are at least 183/184cms tall. i personally think 184 is the sweet spot and 183 is the lowest that actually gives u a package that is

Still agile enough for sharp runs and turns

Good stride length for attacking through balls

Better physical presence than 175–178 cm

Enough height for headers and aerial duels

Excellent for first-time finishes and near-post runs

Less likely to get bullied than a very short striker

my main striker is Rummi who is a beast tbh, but crap of course aerial wise. I have Auba, who is on this list and Fiorentina BatiGol who is here too.

Rummi is slick, Bati is a force to be reckoned with, Auba is surprizingly good, as he comes on in 2nd half without being a super sub and everytime bangs at least one goal.

i think 183cms is the lowest a balanced GP can be.

and i wonder when we could get something more meaningful in terms of GPs.

we have great options that arent yet in the game:
George Weah — 184 cm, Hernán Crespo — 184–185 cm, Ronaldo Nazário — 183 cm, Alan Shearer - 183 cm

I have nothing against Smart Assist users...but,

I dont, i really dont. I mean if a user wants to convince himself he's playing the game where in fact the AI is more than 50% playing it for him, then ok!
I dont use SA and i think one good thing konami has done was the SA filter.
But every now and then non SA users wanna play a friendly quick match to have fun and unwind and u are faced with a SA player.
the problem with SA is that it doesnt only help the user but also degrades the gameplay of the non SA user by misplacing his passes, handicapping the speed and dribbling, etc etc and we all seen it clearly. I MEAN, THAT IN ITSELF IS FRAUDLENT AND I DONT KNOW HOW THIS KONAMI IS EVEN GETTING AWAY WITH IT!
I really think konami should implement a universal SA filter that applies to events and quick matches too, afterall konami already puts non SA only events in the game. so they are aware that SA isnt the best gameplay or fun.

A generic SA filter must come, and whoever still wants to use SA can hive fun facing another SA user in events, divisions and quick matches.

i say this cause i know konami will never remove SA completely from the game

Full gameplay review

I have previously posted an initial review and now it's time for a deeper review after using all 3 players.

To put thing into perspective, let me say that I rate Encara Messi as an SS at 8.3/10 due to his creative playmaker playstyle. I rate blitz curler Rummineige @ 9.0, I rate Barca Cryuff as SS @ 8.5-8.75, and rate BT Eden Hazard Hole player as an SS @ 9.0.
This is important so u all understand my final ratings for the 3 players of today. I chose one CF and 3 SS players as what I am reviewing today is for the same positions.

Lemme start by saying the highlight selling point for all those 3 is the new skill Snap Strike, and it is very visible and has the potential to become an OP skill. It is also effective in cutting down time for stunning shots, and although some claim it cuts off time for all shots and passes, I did NOT experience that.

Let's start...

Totti: The reliable SS
Not built for CF
Couldve done more with a little more acceleration
But he is an SS who gets it done
Right footed
Totti is a good SS with a very good DLF playstyle that suits SS position very much, but there is no way he can be comapred to any of the 3 SS players I refrenced earlier. He is reliable, and technical, and does get the job done every now and then but there is no way he can be an endgame card.
Rating: 7.0 which wouldve been lower if not for the new skill.
Skip recommended, and if you must sppin then anything more than 3 multi spins is crap.

Adriano: The bulldozer CF
Obvious con: Balance
Acts as a FITB when defending to conserve energy due to his Def playstyle
All physical stats top notch except balance
Cant pass the ball
Only plays with his left foot.
Adriano is a big disappointment. He is a ghost in the game. He is built with the same philosophy and way Jan Koller is built; height and jumping. In Adriano's case, it's Bulldozering.
I can understand that Koller can be effective in jumping and that will probably create a goal, but Adriano's bullying and truck like strength will NOT create goals on its own.
I have found his reaction times very slow, his movement so predictable, can be easily pushed off the ball, if you actually manage to give it to him. You can TOTALLY forget about running or dribbling with him. The only way this Adriano is useful is by giving him the ball and quickly taking a stunning shot with him regardless where he is on the pitch, and pushing his kicking power to 103 maybe. But that is NOT sustainable at all!
Rating: 6.25 and I really think this is generous.
Recommendation: Skip at all costs.

Sheva: The Swiss knife CF
Frontline pressure def playstyle so makes sense his stamina is a little high. But it will be depleted very fast since he will chase from the frontline.
Pace, stamina, acceleration, off awareness and finishing top notch
Not reliable for tight possession, and balance is workable; wont feel as clunky as Adriano, but more like a Batistuta.
Both footed demon
Sheva for me was the player I wanted to get so he can either replace Rummi or replace BVB Auba rated 106 who is Rummi's sub.
Sheva is good, clinical and was present and easily found in the game. He is both footed and that's great. He is nowhere near Rummi though, and honestly I seriously prefer Auba coming on in the 70th minute than Sheva. Something else that REALLY made me uncomfortable was his stamina depletion, just as I expected. I have used Sheva for 3 games, using the same tactics, manager, formation, squad I always use with rummi as my CF, and I have found that Sheva requires subbing around the 60th minute while Rummi around the 72nd minute. Sheva's stamina is 87, while Rummi's is 84.
This in itself confirmed what I always suspected with the dual playstyles players since they work offensively and defensively, and tbh, I didnt sense any added benefit from Sheva vs Rummi defensively. But that's another topic.
Let me say that if a new Rummi comes out with Snap Strike but no blitz curler, I would go for him ASAP, but this Sheva isnt endgame.
If you dont have a reliable Goal Poacher or if you have Diouf, then going for Sheva is a good ove I would understand, specially with his Snap Strike skill. But if you already have someone for example like the free 105 Fiorentina Batistuta, then believe me it's not worth it.
Rating: 7.5
Recommendation: ONLY if you need an upgrade to your existing Poacher.
If you get him in 3 to 4 spins, then you can be happy.

This is my gameplay full review, and you have the right to agree or disagree of course, and I thank you all for taking the time to read through it.

Only used Adriano so far so I cant compare gameplay till I use the other 2 players.

Note: Adriano did NOT impress me

Why is Konami playing dumb regarding eFootball points and GP credits?

I mean right now theyre kinda useless tbh. i mean i got 60K efootball points and and around 44 million GPs. and theyre useless.

theres a lotta things they can do and they still wont lose money

Custom Match Kits and Licensed Nostalgia - e.g., legendary AC Milan, Barcelona, or national team kits from past decadesand classic match balls that users can purchase exclusively with eFootball Points and custom shoes, etc.

Exclusive stadium banners, or banners fans hold.

Giving users the chance to actually spin for boxes with players who are NOT as premium as those gold coins packs. Drop packs that u can spin for using efootball points, and other packs u spin for using GP, etc.

Having an actual conversion system where u can convert GP and/or epoints into gold coins. Say 10k GP=100 gold coins and 10k epoints=50 for example. i know other games have this conversion ratio all year long and sometimes they lower the conversion rate so 10k=120 gold coins and 10k epoints=60 gold coins for example (for a limited time period).

Maybe even some kind of The Loan-to-Buy Transfer Market: u can loan new players for 2 days for example or 5 matches to test them out and u can also do that for new managers they bring into the game so u know before buying.

Also a possible Retro Menu and UI Themes and colors coded to ur liking or ur preferred team.

Also maybe changing managers attires, and adding more reactions to them.

A Sideline Celebration & Emotion Package that makes ur subs react differently when a Golazo is scored or when a crucial goal is scored, or even when a GK or defender makes a crucial intervention to stop u being scored against.

A semi in depth heat map at halftime that actually shows ur heat map and ur opponent's so maybe u can adapt or change something next half.

Some meaningful stats like each player's succesful passes, clear cut chances scored/missed, average running speed, running length for halftime and fulltime.

For crying out loud konami...what the heck is wrong with u guys? the community is doing ur work for u and u still dont get it done.

Not sure why, but am getting this feeling....

Knowing konami, of course it wants to capitalize on Messi's international boot hanging and am getting this feeling that they might release 3 different versions of messi already released before, but this time for real money not a draw or gold coins. or maybe release a 250 or 300 box with a crazy stat messi that has never been released before. or both!
konami is konami. am sure of this

Wing play vs SS play (my personal views)

lemme just start by saying that wing play doesnt mean ur gonna be only playing in crosses from the wings to ur 200cm forward, and SS play doesnt mean u wont ever send crosses. But wing play means ur momentum will mainly come from u playing balls to the wingers, while SS play means ur momentum will mainly come from playing through the middle with short combinations, through balls and late runs from the two second strikers, but it dont mean u cant layoff the ball to a fullback who is attacking, or hold the ball and lay it off to a running B2B or Hole player.
The difference ibecomes pretty clear once you play both systems for a few matches.

Wing Play (2 wingers + 1 CF)
Your whole attack is built around getting the ball wide as early as possible. Fullbacks push up, wingers stretch the pitch, and you either cut inside for a shot/through ball or whip a cross/cutback. The CF is mostly there to finish or occupy the centre backs.
It feels faster and more direct. You create a lot of 1v1s and the pitch feels huge. The downside is that if the opponent sits compact and doubles your wingers, you can get stuck on the flanks and your CF becomes isolated.

SS Play (2 SS + 1 CF)
Here the momentum comes from the three attackers combining in the half-spaces and central areas. The two second strikers drop deep to link, make runs in behind, or arrive late into the box. You play a lot of one-twos, short passes and through balls.
It feels more technical and controlled. You overload the middle and create chaos between the lines. The downside is that you can get congested against very compact defences and you have less natural width, so switching play takes more effort.both styles work in 2027, especially with Fluid Formation. Wing play is better if you have pacey skilled wingers and like to attack space. SS play is better if you have creative hole players / classic 10s and prefer combination play.

I decided to dig even deeper and try to see how these might work under different team playstyles...

With Overload, wing play actually works surprisingly well. You drag the opponent over to one side with the winger and fullback, then switch it to the far side. The wide players stay as natural outlets so you don’t get completely trapped. But honestly, I kinda dont dig this winger outlet thing tbh. I mean yes having an outlet is great, but if u do switch to the other flank, ur actually forcing the 3,4,or 5 players u have overloading on the right flank run to the left one. That DOES kill ur stamina! But it is what it sis! SS play is strong too, maybe even more dangerous. The two SS and the CF just flood the ball side and create huge numbers in the half-spaces. When it clicks, boy it feels broken, but if you lose the ball you’re more exposed cause everything is so central.

Under Long Ball Counter, wing play is excellent. Direct balls out to the wingers or over the top into the channels work perfectly. The wide players stretch ur opp's defence and the CF attacks the space. Honestly one of the strongest combos right now. SS play is still solid but feels a bit less natural. The two SS can still run in behind and the CF can hold it up, but you lose some of that pure wide stretching. It works best if at least one of the SS is a Hole Player who’s constantly bombing forward.

With Quick Counter, wing play is also very strong. Fast speedy transitions out to the wings punish high lines hard and you get loads of 1v1s plus early crosses or cutbacks before they can recover. SS play is extremely dangerous here though. The two SS make constant aggressive runs and the through balls after winning the ball are lethal. It feels more clinical than wing play in pure transitions, but you need good defensive recovery as the shape is narrower.

But I did sense I might have some problems still regarding which player playstyles to use and which to avoid. My Ankara Messi i felt wasnt godly with his creative playmaker playstyle.
So....I found that with Overload for wing play I like a Prolific Wingers or Roaming Flanks, maybe combo too, so one stays wide and the other drifts in, CF as Goal Poacher or Fox in the Box.

For Overload SS play the best combo is usually a Hole Player with a Creative Playmaker or DLF, and the CF as Goal Poacher.

Long Ball Counter, wing play likes Prolific Wingers on both sides if you can, or a Cross Specialist, with a Target Man or Goal Poacher up top. For SS play the priority is a Hole Player paired with a DLF and again Goal Poacher or Target Man as CF.

With Quick Counter, wing play works best with Prolific Winger and Roaming Flank, plus a pacey Goal Poacher and for SS play you ideally want two Hole Players, or one Hole Player and one DLF, with a Goal Poacher leading the line.

I still believe my Messi is underperforming tbh.

what are you guys running with since the update????
