Tourism? Spanish/Italian locals!!

I am interested in visiting Spain and Italy, including famous cities like Barcelona and Rome, but I know that locals really hate tourists and how they are taking over their cities. For reference, I am a Canadian that is moving to France and would like to travel while I live in Europe. I was wondering if you had any advice on how to travel in a way that respects the locals and doesn’t support the mass tourism industry that takes away from real residents lives? Or if you think that tourists should just not visit at all?

Best cheap Europe trains?

I’m moving to Strasbourg in one week and I’m interested in taking a solo trip to Italy or other close European countries, but the trains are quite expensive ($230 in my currency for one way on the Trainline app) and I was wondering if that was pretty standard or if there was a better way to book trains?

First apartment

I’m about to get my first apartment in France (moving to the country too!) and I was looking for any advice. It’s a studio, fairly small, and I would have to do all the furniture shopping once I arrive in France. Give me all the tips and tricks.

Will my visa be denied?

I’m applying for a long term student visa in France as a Canadian. I’m going to university of Strasbourg, and I have yet to secure official housing as I don’t want to be scammed lol. I have family friends that live in angers and are willing to accommodate me for some time and I was wondering if I could put them on my visa application for accommodation. I plan on getting there before my classes start and finding accommodation when we can actually look at places, but I was wondering, because angers and Strasbourg are far apart, if my visa would be rejected. If anyone has any tips or advice on Visas and finding accommodation in France as an international student, I would be SO grateful!!!

Doxycycline before NYC trip?

My derm prescribed me doxycycline today and I leave for my trip to NYC in 4 days. It’s may, and we plan to be outside a lot, so I’m a bit worried about sun exposure on the meds. As a rosacea victim, I wear sunscreen everyday, though I don’t reapply it. For the trip, I was planning on getting an easy spray sunscreen with me to reapply every few hours for my body and face, but I’m not sure if it’s worth the hyper vigilance or risk? My derm also prescribed me with birth control for acne that I’m planning on starting after the trip, just because I don’t want to have to deal with an onslaught of side effects while away from home, but she said with th doxycycline that starting earlier will help me get results I want for an event in like 3 week. I’m not too sure what to do and was hoping someone with experience on the meds could let me know if I should wait or not?

I got accepted to university of Strasbourg, and I was wondering if there was anybody else looking for apartments who might be interested in being roommates? Specifically a female, non-smoker who is also academically focused. If anyone is interested we can talk more, just send me a message and maybe we can both save some money in accommodation?
