Rock up

Ive worked for outback 15 years now and in my experience they’re consistently making decisions that make you think “yea they haven’t stepped foot in a store in x amount of years” managers won’t like this but I believe They should make their salaried managers handle the rock up. First and foremost absolutely no one is as excited about the rock up as the managers and in my store the rock up just wouldn’t happen without the managers constant nagging starting at 545 so you know they are available to handle the task. last night I had a full bar at 6 several tickets on service bar multiple new bar guests to greet, am I crazy or is it extremely hypocritical for corporate to say that we need to provide amazing service to every guest but in that moment I’m supposed to make those drink tickets wait several Minutes and make those new guest wait another 10 minutes to get greeted because I have to stop service to make sample drinks for every single person at the bar and lead a pep rally? There’s no reason why the manager who’s standing at service bar reminding me Over and over again to do the rock up can’t comeBehind the bar and do it so I can keep taking care of guests! Last night as I was passing out the samples some of the new guest tried putting an order in and I had to tell them I’ll be right with them in a minute and as I began the rock up 3 of them
Got up and left. Honestly can’t blame them their grown ass man of a bartender cares more about a pep rally then serving them

Return customers

For those of you that are in America and don’t leave tips in restaurants, do you return to the same restaurants or are you a one and done?

Pay servers more

I’m curious a lot of you believe servers in the US should be paid more money by the business and no longer receive tips. What would you consider and appropriate wage to pay servers??
I’m a server in Florida. Looking back at my last 2 weeks
The restaurant pays me 10.98 an hour and with tips I averaged almost 47$ per hour on 39.5 hours a week
I’ve worked at my restaurant for 15 years now, I know I’m very good at what I do because it’s been years since I’ve gotten any complaints about service or anything other than food and about half of my nightly clientele is customers I regularly serve because they request me. Genuinely I wouldn’t deal with any of the bullshit I deal with on a nightly basis for any less than 30$ an hour
We see your posts on Reddit and a lot of us agree that we would rather be paid
More by the business as opposed to rely on tips but also agree that even $25 an hour wouldn’t be enough. But what would you consider an appropriate wage for restaurants to pay waiters? And would you be okay with service going down hill so long as you don’t have to tip?

Instant

Anyone else notice that the fee to transfer money off instant went up to $3.50?
Also now you don’t use your instant card in a 90 day period there’s a $5 fee ?!
Just curious when does it end and why is
Corporate still partnering with these crooks??

Do you all give exact change to your customers?
I have worked in a restaurant for 15 years now and for as long as I’ve worked there the policy with cash has been round up or down
For example if the customers bill
Is 32.50 an they have you 40$
7$ would be the change but if the bill was 32.49 you would Just give them $8 cash for change
Last night was the first time in 15 years that a customer had a problem with said policy and accused us of theft. I also made sure he knew he was the first customer in 15 years to complain over a couple coins and told him “if it’s really that big of an issue I’ll jus give you and extra dollar”
